Our prediction for this FA Cup match:
A place in the FA Cup round 5 will be at stake when Derby County and West Ham United face each other at Pride Park on Monday evening. The Rams continue where they left in December, with the team extending their winning run to six games at Port Vale, but they face an uphill task in the FA Cup showdown. The opposition back-line should have experienced forward David McGoldrick at bay, while there are no fresh injury worries in the home team.
The Hammers, on the other hand, desperately needed a win against Everton, and they managed to get one, with the team moving away from the relegation zone. David Moyes is eager to keep his job, and we predict that his players are going to prove their worth on the field in Sunday’s FA Cup encounter. Both Gianluca Scamacca and Maxwel Cornet are sidelined with injuries, speaking of the away side.
Highlighted Player (Richard Stearman):
Born in Wolverhampton, England on August 19, 1987 Richard Stearman is a defender who represented the Three Lions at youth level. Stearman has four caps for England U21 team and he played nine games for the under-17 squad as well.
The 191-cm-tall footballer is a product of Leicester City football academy and he made his first-team debut with the club on October 30, 2004 in a goalless draw with Cardiff City. The English defender scored five goals in 211 appearances in the league for the Foxes before joining Wolverhampton in the summer of 2008.
He signed a four-year deal with the Wolves and he made his debut for the club on August 9, 2008 in a 2-2 draw with Plymouth. From 2015 to 2017 he played for Fulham and at the end of the 2016/2017 Championship campaign he joined Sheffield United. Richard Sterman’s main position is centre-back, but he is used as a right-back as well.
Highlighted Team (West Ham):
West Ham United are an English football club based in East London. The club was founded in 1895 and it has to be noted that the club’s name was Thames Ironworks back then. The Hammers were playing their home games at Upton Park from 1904 until 2016, when they moved to the Stadium at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
West Ham have won three FA Cup trophies (1964, 1975 and 1980) and they were runners-up in 1923 and 2006. The capital club finished the 1985/1986 England first division campaign in third place in the standings and that is the club’s highest placing in the top flight. West Ham United have strong rivalries with fellow London clubs, but Tottenham Hotspur are considered the club’s main rivals.
A number of top-class players were part of West Ham in the past and the likes of Joe Cole, Carlos Tevez, Paolo Di Canio, Paul Ince, Julian Dicks, Shaka Hislop, Michael Carrick and Slaven Bilic are some of them.
