Our prediction for this FA Cup match:
All eyes will be on Carrow Road when Norwich City and Blackburn Rovers face each other in a highly-anticipated FA Cup game. Both sides are eyeing promotion to the Premier League, but as things stand now, a spot in the playoffs seems to be their maximum. The Canaries are on a four-game winless run in the league, and they head into Sunday’s clash following a 1-0 loss to Watford.
There are no fresh injury concerns in the home team, but both Rowe and Sorensen are pushing for a start. The Riversiders, on the other hand, desperately needed a win against Cardiff City, and they managed to get one thanks to Bradley Dack’s goal. John Buckley is back from suspension, while both Callum Brittain and Sam Barnes remain in the treatment room. Anyhow, both teams to score betting should be considered as both sides look sharp up front with Teemu Pukki and Brereton Diaz respectively in the starting line-up.
Highlighted Player (Grant Hanley):
Grant Hanley is Scottish footballer who plays for Norwich City as defender. Hanley was born in Dumfries, Scotland, on November 20, 1991 and he started his youth career at Queen of the South. After ending his spells with Crewe Alexandra and Rangers, the Scottish player joined English club Blackburn Rovers, where he started his senior career.
After scoring eight goals in 183 appearances for the Riversiders in league matches, he moved to fellow English club Newcastle United in July, 2016 for an undisclosed fee. Grant Hanley, though, made no more than 10 appearances for Newcastle United in the Championship before joining Norwich City. The 191-cm-tall defender made his full international debut for Scotland against Wales on in May, 2011.
He scored his first goal for the Scotland national football team in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Wales. His contract with Norwich City should expire on June 30, 2021.
Highlighted Team (Blackburn Rovers):
Blackburn Rovers have been trying to return to the Premier League ever since they dropped to the Championship in 2012. The Riversiders compete in the English second tier and they play their home games at Ewood Park. Blackburn were founded back in 1875 and they are one of the founding members of the Football League (1888).
Burnley are considered Blackburn’s main rivals and the two teams square off against each other in the East Lancashire derby. It has to be noted that Blackburn Burnley 7-1 in their first ever meeting in the East Lancashire Derby on 3 November, 1888. The Riversiders have won three First Division (Premier League) trophies (1911/1912, 1913/1914, 1994/1995).
Blackburn Rovers have clinched six FA Cup titles as well. Speaking of the club’s European success, the Riversiders won the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2007. The colour of Blackburn’s home kit is blue and white.
