Our prediction for this FIFA Club World Cup match:
A spot in the FIFA Club World Cup final will be at stake when Fluminense and Al Ahly face each other at King Abdullah Sports City on Monday evening. Fluminense aim to bounce back from back-to-back losses to Palmeiras and Gremio and the bookies see them as favourites to win this eagerly-awaited clash. Forward John Kennedy is widely expected to return to the starting XI after coming as a substitute in the last league match, while left-back Jorge misses out with injury.
Al Ahly, on the other hand, set up a meeting with Fluminense by beating Karim Benzema’s Al Ittihad 3-1. As the CAF Champions League winners produced a brilliant display in the quarter-finals, we predict that they will hold Fluminense to a draw after 90 minutes. As for the nominal visitors, both Kahraba and Ahmed Kouka are major doubts after the duo came off the bench in the triumph over Al Ittihad.
Highlighted Player (Marcelo):
Marcelo is a Brazilian football player who has always been compared with Robero Carlos. The pacey full back has a very powerful shoot and he often makes life difficult for opposition defenders. Marcelo was born in Rio de Janeiro on 12 May, 1988 and he played for Fluminense during his youth career. He made 30 league appearances for Flu and in 2007 he joined Real Madrid.
The Brazilian ace made his Real Madrid debut against Deportivo La Coruna on 7 January, 2007, coming as a substitute in the second half of the match. He made his first start in a 2-1 loss to Racing de Santander. Marcelo won two Champions League trophies with los Blancos (2013/2014, 2015/2016), while clinching three La Liga titles (2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2011/2012).
The Real Madrid full back represented Brazil at the 2008 Summer Olympics and he won the bronze medal with the Selecao. Four years later, the Brazilians won the silver medal at the Summer Olympics in London. Marcelo’s contract with Real Madrid expires on 30 June, 2020.
