Burton will look to bounce back from a 2-0 loss to Barnsley when they take on Lincoln on Matchday 23. The Brewers are stuck in the relegation zone with only 16 points on their account, and they must be low on spirits following the weekend’s defeat. The hosts are desperate to grab something from the Boxing Day clash, and they are likely to fight tooth and nail against Lincoln.
Both Jonny Smith and Sam Winnall are sidelined with injuries, but Viljami Sinisalo has recovered from illness. The Imps, on the other hand, aim to move closer to the playoffs berth. He was on loan at Burton Albion, Hereford United, Inverness CT and Shrewsbury Town and in the 2013/2014 campaign he signed a contract with Scunthorpe United. Sam Winnall scored 23 goals in 45 appearances for the club and, as a result, secured a lucrative move to Barnsley in 2014. He went on to score his first goal for Barnsley on 23 August 2014 in a 4-1 win over Gillingham.
Winnall helped Barnsley eliminate Walsall in the 2015/2016 League One semis as he scored a brace in the first leg. It has to be noted that he scored 23 goals in the English second tier in the 2015/2016 season. He provided 8 assists for his teammates during the season and he finished the campaign as the third highest goalscorer in the league, just behind Nicky Ajose and Will Grigg.
