Newcomers Cambridge United will be looking to kick off the new League One campaign in style when they take on Oxford United at Abbey Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The U’s impressed in the 2020/21 League Two campaign, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in the English third tier. Since top scorer from the last season Paul Mullin (32 goals) left the club in the summer transfer window, we do not believe that home win should be considered.
You should bear in mind that the U’s failed to win the previous four warm-up games. Oxford United, on the other hand, have big ambitions for the 2021/22 League One season, and seeing that the club chiefs managed to keep hold of key attacker Matthew Taylor, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the visitors.

Born in Cambridge, England on July 31, 1993, Liam O’Neil is an English footballer who plays as both defender as midfielder for Cambridge United in the League Two. O’Neil is a product of the Cambridge United football school, but he played for Histon during his youth career as well.
In the summer of 2012 he joined WBA youth academy, and it has to be noted that he made three appearances for the Baggies at senior level in all competitions. Liam O’Neil played for the likes of VPS and Scunthorpe United on loan as well before joining Chesterfield in 2015.
After scoring two goals in 45 appearances for the club in the league, O’Neil moved to Cambridge United in the winter of 2017. As his mother comes from Wales, O’Neil is open to play for the Wales national team, but he has yet to earn a cap with the Dragons.
