Our prediction for this League 1 match:
All eyes will be on Portman Road when Ipswich Town and Plymouth face each other in the League One derby. The Tractor Boys aim to keep their playoffs hopes alive, while the Pilgrims want to move closer to automatic promotion berth. Ipswich were on the verge of beating Oxford at Kassam Stadium, but McNally eventually scored the equalizer late in the stoppage time. As a result, Ipswich are six points behind the playoffs berth, meaning that this has to go down as a must-win game for them.
Both Bonne and Morsy are pushing for a start. As for the visiting side, they have been in a splendid form in March. Since Plymouth looked sharp in front of goal in a 4-0 crushing of Accrington, we are tempted to put our money on both teams to score. All Brendan Galloway, George Cooper, Dan Scarr, and Alfie Lewis should miss out with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Lee Evans):
Lee Evans is a right-footed footballer who plays for Wigan Athletic in the Championship. Evans played for the likes of Malpas FC, Bristol Rovers and Newport County during his youth career and he continued playing for the Ironsides at senior level.
The 186-cm-tall midfielder then joined the Wolves, scoring 3 goals in 59 appearances for the club in the league. After ending his loan spells with Bradford City and Wigan Athletic, the Wales international moved to Sheffield United in the winter of 2018 for an undisclosed fee. However, at the end of the 2017/2018 season he returned to Wigan Athletic (loan).
After making 21 appearances for the club, Lee Evans signed a permanent deal with the Latics on January 1, 2019. Speaking of his international career, the Wigan Athletic midfielder made his Wales debut on November 14, 2017 in a 1-1 draw with Panama. His main position is central midfield, but he is used as a defensive midfielder as well.
Highlighted Team (Plymouth):
Nicknamed the Pilgrims, Plymouth are a professional football club that host their rivals at Home Park. The stadium, which can hold up to 18,600 people, was built in 1892 and opened the following year. Plymouth footballers wear dark green jerseys and white shorts when playing in front of home fans, while light green and white are the dominant colours of their away kit.
The Pilgrims made it to the FA Cup semi-finals in the 1983-84 season, with the team advancing to the Football League Cup semis on two occasions (1964-65, 1973-74). The Pilgrims recorded their biggest win against Millwall on January 16, 1932, with the team beating the Lions 8-1, and they repeated the success in 1994 as they rolled over Hartlepool United in the Second Division.
The club suffered their heaviest defeat against Stoke City (0-9) on December 17, 1960. Fellow Devon teams Exeter City and Torquay United are seen as the club’s fiercest rivals.
