Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Lincoln City and Wycombe Wanderers go head to head at LNER stadium in what is expected to be one of the most interesting games of Saturday’s program. The Imps quickly bounced back from a 2-1 loss to MK Dons, with the team beating Morecambe in midweek, but their League One status is still in great danger. January signing Morgan Whittaker should keep his place in the starting XI after finding the net in the last league match, as well as fit-again centre-back Joe Walsh.
Both Lewis Montsma and Tom Hopper should miss out with injuries. The Chairboys, on the other hand, are eager to secure automatic promotion to the Championship, but beating Lincoln on the road is easier said than done. A close encounter is on the cards, and we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw. Dominic Gape is a major doubt, and he will be assessed ahead of the match.
Highlighted Player (Liam Bridcutt ):
Liam Robert Bridcutt is a professional footballer who plays for Lincoln City as a defensive midfielder. Born in Reading, England on May 8, 1989, Bridcutt is a product of the Chelsea football academy, but he did not see any game action for the Blues at senior level. After ending his loan spells with Yeovil Town, Watford, and Stockport County, the 175-cm footballer signed a five-month contract with Brighton where he established himself as a first-team regular.
After making 132 appearances in the league for the Seagulls, Liam Bridcutt moved to Sunderland in the winter of 2014. He played for the likes of Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Bolton Wanderers as well before joining Lincoln City in January, 2020.
His main position is defensive midfield, but he is used as a central midfielder as well. The Lincoln City player has a dual citizenship (Scotland/England), and it has to be noted that he has two caps with the Scotland national team.
Highlighted Team (Wycombe):
Founded back in 1887, Wycombe Wanderers are one of the oldest clubs in the League One. The Chairboys are well known for their sky blue and dark blue shirts, but the colour of their away kit is orange combined with gun-metal gray.
Wycombe Wanderers host their rivals at Adams Park, a small stadium in Sands Industrial Estate which can hold up to 10,137 people. Milton Keynes Dons are seen as the club’s main rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the Buckinghamshire derby. Wycombe Wanderers made it to the FA Cup semis in the 2000/2001, with the team repeating the success in the League Cup six seasons later.
It has to be noted that the Chairboys have two FA Trophy titles (1991, 1993). Legendary midfielder Gareth Ainsworth is considered one of the club’s most famous players. Ainsworth scored 16 goals in 112 league appearances for Wycombe Rovers.
