Saturday’s football game at Globe Arena pits together Morecambe and Sheffield Wednesday, the two teams who sit in the opposite halves of the table. Sheffield are on a quest to secure a quick return to the Championship, and their recent displays are surely giving fans a reason for optimism. The Owls did well to beat Rotherham United (2-0) in their last league match, and they are surely capable of matching Morecambe at Globe Arena.
Experienced attacker Lee Gregory, who scored as a substitute at the weekend, is pushing for a start, while Josh Windass remains in the recovery room. The Shrimps failed to impress in back-to-back defeats to Morecambe (0-1) and Gillingham (1-2), and they are unlikely to grab something from Saturday’s clash against the promotion-chasing side. Born in Crewe, England on March 6, 1990, A-Jay Leitch-Smith is a professional footballer who plays for Morecambe as a forward. Leitch-Smith is a product of the Crewe Alexandra football academy, and it has to be noted that he made 103 appearances for the club’s first team.
After spending several seasons on loan at Halifax Town, Newcastle Town, IBV, and Curzon Ashton, the English footballer joined Yeovil Town on a permanent basis in the 2014/2015 season. A-Jay Leitch-smith played for the likes of Port Vale, Shrewsbury Town, and Dundee (loan) as well before moving to his current club Morecambe.
Leitch-Smith is a very intelligent and creative attacker with good technical abilities. His preferred foot is centre-forward, but he is used as both second striker and right winger as well. The English footballer, who wears the number 28 jersey at Morecambe, has a contract with the Shrimps until June 30, 2021.
