Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Oxford United and Wycombe Wanderers go head to head at Kassam Stadium in what is expected to be a close League One encounter. The Yellows do not seem to be at the top of their game, with the team losing to both Plymouth and MK Dons, while sharing the spoils with Charlton in London at the weekend. Oxford aim to escape the danger zone, and we are positive that they will fight tooth and nail against the Chairboys.
With no fresh injury worries to report, boss Karl Robinson is unlikely to make changes to the team that played out the 1-1 draw with the Red Robins. Wycombe, on the other hand, suffered yet another dip in form, with the team extending their losing run to three games against Plymouth. Even though there are no fresh selection worries in the away side, we are tempted to put our money on the Yellows as the Chairboys are one of the worst travellers in the league at the moment.
Highlighted Player (Stuart Findlay):
Stuart Findlay is a Scottish footballer who plays for Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premier League. Born on September 14, 1995, Findlay is a product of the Celtic football school. However, despite spending his youth career at Celtic Park, the Scottish footballer did not see any game action with the Hoops at the senior level.
After ending his loan spells with Greenock Morton, Dumbarton, and Kilmarnock, Stuart Findlay signing a deal with EPL side Newcastle United in the summer of 2016. He made his debut for the Magpies in the FA Cup game against Birmingham City on January 18, 2017.
One year later, he decided to return to Kilmarnock, signing a loan deal with Rugby Park outfit. In July 2018, he joined the Killie permanently. Speaking of his international career, Findlay scored on his debut for the Scotland national team in a 6-0 win over San Marino on October 13, 2019.
Highlighted Team (Wycombe):
Founded back in 1887, Wycombe Wanderers are one of the oldest clubs in the League One. The Chairboys are well known for their sky blue and dark blue shirts, but the colour of their away kit is orange combined with gun-metal gray.
Wycombe Wanderers host their rivals at Adams Park, a small stadium in Sands Industrial Estate which can hold up to 10,137 people. Milton Keynes Dons are seen as the club’s main rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the Buckinghamshire derby. Wycombe Wanderers made it to the FA Cup semis in the 2000/2001, with the team repeating the success in the League Cup six seasons later.
It has to be noted that the Chairboys have two FA Trophy titles (1991, 1993). Legendary midfielder Gareth Ainsworth is considered one of the club’s most famous players. Ainsworth scored 16 goals in 112 league appearances for Wycombe Rovers.
