Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Plymouth and Bolton square off against each other at Home Park in what is expected to be a close League One encounter. Plymouth aim to build on back-to-back wins over Burton and Oxford United where they looked sharp in front of goal. The Pilgrims are likely to stick to their attacking style of play, and we predict that they are going to find the net in the midweek clash. There are no absentees in the home team, but Brendan Galloway is pushing for a start.
The Trotters, on the other hand, have already netted 20 goals in the new League One campaign, and despite failing to find the net in a heavy 4-0 loss to Wigan, we believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. Liam Edwards misses out with injury for the away team, while Xavier Amaechi is a major doubt.
Highlighted Player (Scott Wootton):
After spending his youth career at English giants Liverpool and Manchester United, Scott Wootton played for the likes of Tranmere Rovers, Peterborough United, and Nottingham Forest on loan at senior level. In the summer of 2013, the defender signed a three-year deal with Leeds United.
Scott Wootton made 66 appearances for the Whites in the league before moving to Rotherham United on loan. In August 2016, the English footballer joined League 1 club Milton Keynes Dons, signing a two-year deal with the Stadium MK outfit. Nowadays, Scott Wootton plays for Plymouth Argyle in the League Two, where he wears the number 5 jersey.
Scott Wootton’s primary position is a centre-back, but he is capable of producing fine performances at right-back as well. The 188-cm tall defender, whose preferred foot is right, has three caps for the England U17 team. Scott Wootton was born in Birkenhead, England, on September 12, 1991.
Highlighted Team (Bolton):
Bolton Wanderers were formed as Christ Church Football Club back in 1874 and three years later they adopted their current name. The Trotters currently compete in the Championship and they play their home games at Macron Stadium, which was opened in 1997.
Speaking of the club’s trophies, Bolton Wanderers won the FA Cup on four occasions (1923, 1926, 1929 and 1958), but they have yet to win the Premier League title. The Trotters were producing splendid displays in the 2003/2004 Premier League campaign, with the team finishing the season in eighth position in the standings, which is regarded as the club’s best result in the English top flight.
Bolton did well to reach the UEFA Cup knockout stages in the 2007/2008 season; the English outfit eliminated Atletico Madrid in the two-legged tie, but Sporting Lisbon eventually proved to be a big catch for the Trotters.
Nigeria international Jay-Jay Okocha is one of the most notable footballers who played for Bolton and he scored 14 goals in 124 appearances in the league for the club. Bury are considered the club’s fiercest rivals.
