Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Buoyed by a hard-fought 1-0 win over Cambridge United, Rotherham United will look to keep on climbing the standings when they take on Reading in yet another exciting League One game. The Millers did well to put an end to their four-game winless run, with substitute Sam Nombe scoring the winner from the penalty spot. The 25-year-old forward is pushing for a start, while there are no fresh injury worries in the home team.
The Royals, on the other hand, aim to build on back-to-back wins over Huddersfield Town and Burton Albion, but given their poor away record in the new League One campaign, we are tempted to put our money on Rotherham this time out. Ruben Selles is unlikely to make changes to the team that defeated Burton Albion 3-1 on Tuesday evening. In their last meeting at Aesseal New York Stadium the Millers crushed the Royals 4-0.
Highlighted Team (Rotherham):
Rotherham United are an English club that compete in the Championship. Rotherham United are located in Rotherham, South Yorkshire and they play their home games at New York Stadium and the capacity of the venue is 12,021.
The club was founded in 1925 as a merger between Rotherham County and Rotherham Town. The colour of Rotherham’s home kit was originally yellow and black, but nowadays they were red and white jerseys. The Millers made it to the FA Cup fifth round on two occasions (1952/1953, 1967/1968) and they have yet to play in the Premier League.
Rotherham United have won the Football League One twice (1950/1951, 1980/1981), but the club’s biggest success is participation in the 1960/1961 League Cup final. Sheffield United are regarded as Rotherham United’s fiercest rivals, but the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and Doncaster could be considered Rotherham’s big rivals as well.
