Our prediction for this League 1 match:
There will be fireworks when Sheffield Wednesday and Fleetwood Town go head to head at Hillsborough on Tuesday evening. The Owls did well to record their first win of the season at the weekend, with the team beating Doncaster 2-0 at home ground. Sheffield Wednesday aim to give fans yet another reason for celebration, and the bookies see them as favourites to win the midweek clash. Josh Windass is sidelined through injury for the home team.
Fleetwood, on the other hand, failed to impress in back-to-back losses to Portsmouth (0-1) and Lincoln (1-2). The Cod Army have been struggling to find their best form at the start of the season, and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Sheffield’s party at Hillsborough. This will be the first meeting between the two teams in the English third tier.
Highlighted Player (Massimo Luongo):
Born in Sydney, Australia on September 25, 1992 Massimo Luongo attended Waverley College. In 2009 he won the championship with the team and two years later he was spotted by Tottenham Hotspur scouts. In January 2011 Luongo, whose mother is of Indonesian heritage, impressed on trial with Spurs and, as a result, he remained at White Hart Lane. However, did not see any game action for Tottenham Hotspur during his spell with the capital club.
After ending his loan spells with Ipswich Town and Swindon Town, the 176-cm-tall midfielder signed permanent deal with the Robins and you should know that he scored 10 goals in 76 appearances in the league for the club.
In 2015 he returned to London, with the Australian international joining Queens Park Rangers. Luongo scored his first goal for the Hoops in a 5-1 win over Rotherham United on March 18, 2017. The QPR footballer made his Australia debut on March 6, 2014 in a 4-3 defeat to Ecuador. In 2015 he won the AFC Asian Cup with the Socceroos.
Highlighted Team (Fleetwood):
Known for their attacking style of play, Fleetwood Town are a professional football club based in Fletwood, Lancashire. The Fishermen play their home matches at Highbury Stadium, the venue with the capacity of 5,327 (2,672 seated), with the team wearing red and white shirts in home matches.
On the other hand, Fleetwood footballers are dressed in yellow when playing on the travels. The original club was founded back in 1908 under the name of Fleetwood FC and 69 years later they were re-established as Fleetwood Town F.C. In 1998 the club was renamed to Fleetwood Wanderers after the second reformation.
Legendary England footballer Joey Barton is considered one of the club’s most notable coaches. Barton, who was known for his incidents on the field, has been in charge since June 2, 2018. Neighbouring club Blackpool are regarded as one of Fleetwood’s main rivals. The Fishermen have built up rivalries with Morecambe and Preston North End as well.
