Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Crewe Alexandra will look to recover from a 4-2 loss to Salford City when they take on Tranmere Rovers in the League Two round 13. The Railwaymen are eyeing their fourth consecutive win in front of home fans and the bookies see them as favourites to beat Tranmere in Saturday’s encounter. Courtney Baker-Richardson, who scored a brace in the last league match, returns to the starting XI after he was rested in the EFL Trophy defeat to Wrexham (0-3).
The Super Whites, on the other hand, head into the match following a 2-2 draw with Grimsby. Tranmere, though, are not regarded as good travellers and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Crewe’s party at Alexandra Stadium. In their last meeting at the venue Crewe defeated Tranmere thanks to Charlier Colkett’s goal. Both Morris and Jennings should be recalled to the Super Whites’ starting XI.
Highlighted Player (Jordan Turnbull):
Born in Trowbridge, England, on October 30, 1994, Jordan Turnbull is a professional footballer who plays for Northampton Town as a defender. Turnbull is a product of Swindon Town football academy, but in 2007 he was spotted by Southampton scouts.
Despite signing a professional contract with Southampton, he did not see any game action with the Saints at senior level. The English footballer made no fewer than 86 league appearances for Swindon Town during his loan spell with the Robins, and in 2016 he signed a contract with Coventry City.
Jordan Turnbull spent the 2017/2018 on loan Partick Thistle before joining Northampton Town permanently. Speaking of his international career, the Northampton centre-back has two caps with the England U19 team, and one cap with the England U20. Jordan Turnbull, who is used as a left-back as well, wears the number 6 jersey at Northampton Town. His preferred foot is left.
Highlighted Team (Crewe):
Crewe Aleandra are a professional football club that welcome their rivals at Gresty Road. The stadium was built in 1906, and it can hold up to 10,153 spectators. Founded back in 1877, Crewe Alexandra play their home games in red shirts and white shorts, while yellow is the dominant colour of their away kit.
The Railwaymen played their first game against North Staffs in 1877, with the two teams sharing the spoils (1-1) at Alexandra Recreation Ground. Nowadays, Crewe compete in the League 2 where they take on their main rivals Port Vale. In 2014 a match between the two sides resulted in violence and arrests. The likes of Wrexham, Macclesfield Town, Shrewsbury Town, and Stoke City are considered the club’s rivals as well.
In 2013 Crewe Alexandra clinched the Football League Trophy as they defeated Southend United 2-0 in the title game at Wembley Stadium. Goals from Max Clayton and Luke Murphy helped the Railwaymen clinch their first and only Football League Trophy.
