Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Following a goalless draw with Carlisle United, Hartlepool will look to return to winning ways when they take on Victoria Park in the League Two round 28. The Pools aim to put an end to their five-game winless run, and they are likely to fight tooth and nail against the Boro. Both Cullen and Shelton are pushing for a start, with Carver and Crawford likely to drop to the bench.
Stevenage, on the other hand, aim to build on a 2-1 win over Crawley Town. The Boro have been showing signs of improvement of late, but beating the Pools on the road is easier said than done. A close match is on the cards at Victoria Park, and we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw. Luke Norris should be recalled to Stevenage’s starting XI after scoring as a substitute in the last league fixture.
Highlighted Player (Jake Taylor):
Jake Taylor is a product of the Reading football academy who plays for Exeter City in the League Two. Taylor spent his youth career at Reading, and he continued wearing the blue and white shirt at senior level.
After scoring two goals in 31 appearances with the Royals in the league, the English footballer spent several seasons on loan at the likes of Aldershot Town, Exeter City, Cheltenham Town, Crawley Town, Leyton Orient, and Motherwell. In 2016 Jake Taylor returned to Exeter City, signing a permanent deal with the St James Park outfit.
Despite being born in Ascot, England, on December 1, 1991, Taylor represents Wales on the international stage. He has ten caps with the Wales U21 team, and he made his debut with the Dragons at the senior level in a 2-1 win over Cyprus on October 13, 2014. His primary position is central midfielder.
Highlighted Team (Stevenage):
Based in Hertfordshire, England, Stevenage Borough are a professional club that compete in the League Two. The Boro are well known for their red and white home hit, while dark blue is the dominant colour of their away kit. Stevenage play their home games at Broadhall Way, the stadium which can hold up to 6,722 spectators and they were founded in 1976.
The Boro have won FA Trophy on two occasions (2006/07, 2008/09), with the team clinching the Herts Senior Cup title in the 2008/09 season thanks to a 2-1 win over Cheshunt. Luton are considered one of the club’s biggest rivals and there have always been fireworks in matches between the two sides.
In 2015 fighting broke out between rival fans near to the end of the clash at the Lamex. It has to be noted that Stevenage Borough were founded in 1976 after the bankruptcy of Stevenage Athletic.
