Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Rodney Parade will host Saturday’s football match between Newport County and Bradford City, two teams who were not at their sharpest at the weekend. Newport County suffered a 1-0 loss at Mansfield Town, with the team failing to find the net in their fourth consecutive league fixture. The Exiles are desperate to get back on course in the League Two, but the game against Bradford City will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts.
The Bantams, on the other hand, aim to make amends for a 2-1 loss at Cambridge United, with the team once again experiencing all sorts of problems at the back on the road. Bradford City are eyeing a place in the play-offs, but given their poor away record, we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw. You should bear in mind that under 2.5 goals have been netted in each of Newport County’s last five league fixtures.
Highlighted Player (Tom King):
Thomas Lloyd King is a professional footballer who plays for Newport County as a goalkeeper. Born in Plymouth, England, on March 9, 1995, Tom King played for the likes of Manchester 62, Portsmouth, and Crystal Palace during his youth career.
Despite signing a professional deal with Crystal Palace, the English shot-stopper did not see any game action with the Eagles at the senior level. Tom King moved to Millwall in the summer of 2014, signing a one-year deal with the capital club. After making only 11 appearances for the Lions in the League One, King joined League two side Newport County on June 7, 2019, signing a two-year deal with the South Wales outfit.
It has to be noted that Thomas Lloyd King played for the likes of Welling United, Braintree Town, Stevenage, and AFC Wimbledon on loan as well before signing a deal with Newport County. Tom King has one cap with the England U17 despite his dual citizenship (England/Wales).
Highlighted Team (Bradford):
Founded back in 1903, Bradford City are professional football club that compete in League Two. The Bantams are well known for their claret and amber shirts, whereas white is the dominant colour of their away kit. Bradford City maintain rivalries with Leeds United and Huddersfield Town, with the teams facing each other in the West Yorkshire derby.
The Bantams participated in the Bradford derby with local rivals Bradford Park Avenue in the past. Bradford City did remarkably well to win the FA Cup in 1911, with the team beating Newcastle United in the final. In 2013 the club made it to the League Cup final, where they suffered a heavy 5-0 loss to Swansea City in the title game.
Saint Kitts and Nevis international Ces Poss is the player with most appearances (502) for the club, while former Northern Ireland attacker Bobby Campbell is sitting in the top position in the Bradford City all-time top goalscorers list.
