Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Expect an electrifying atmosphere at Rodney Parade when Newport County and Notts County lock horns in their season opener. The Exiles did well to beat Barnet in the EFL Cup preliminary round in midweek, meaning that they are brimming with confidence ahead of Tuesday’s clash. With Courtney Baker-Richardson limping off with injury in the EFL Cup triumph, fellow forward Gerard Garner is widely expected to step up.
The Magpies, on the other hand, did well to make it to the League Two playoffs last season, but AFC Wimbledon proved to be a big catch for them in the two-legged tie. Experienced attacker David McGoldrick is no longer part of the team and, in his absence, a man to watch in the away side will be summer recruit Oliver Norburn, who is expected to make his official debut against Newport County. Anyhow, there is a big value in betting on draw as Newport are tough to beat at home.
