Our prediction for this League 2 match:
After suffering a 2-0 loss to Cheltenham in their last warm-up game, Northampton Town will look to give fans some cheer when they kick off the new League Two campaign with a home match against Colchester United. The Cobblers were anything but impressive in pre-season, but they are still seen as hot favourites to win the season opener.
It has to be noted that the club chiefs did well to keep hold of top scorer from last season Samuel Hoskins in the summer transfer window. The U’s, on the other hand, were struggling at the back in warm-up games, which is probably the main reason why home win should be considered. A man to keep an eye on in the away team will be Frederick Sears, who scored 14 goals in the English fourth tier last season.
