Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Olympique Lyon play host to Angers at their Parc Olympique Lyonnais on day 30 of the 2021/2022 Ligue 1 campaign. Les Gones are stuck in the middle of the table, with the team having their ups and downs of late. Lyon aim to keep their Europa League hopes alive, and seeing that they are eight points behind top four, this has to go down as a must-win game for the home side. All Romaine Faivre, Jerome Boateng, Sinaly Diomande, Mathis Rayan Cherki, and Lenny Pintor should miss out with injuries.
Les Scoistes, on the other hand, did well to put an end to their dreadful losing run, with the team beating Brest thanks to Sofiane Boufal’s goal. Angers, though, are not regarded as good travelers, and given the importance of Sunday’s clash for Lyon, we predict that the visitors will return home empty-handed. Romain Thomas is banned for the visiting side, while both Jimmy Cabot and Azzedine Ounahi are sidelined with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Jerome Boateng):
After spending the 2010/2011 season at Manchester City, Jerome Boateng moved to Bayern Munich on 14 July, 2011. The 192-cm-tall defender joined the Bundesliga giants for a fee of €13.5 million and he has been playing for the Bavarians ever since. Despite the fact that his father is Ghanaian, Boateng decided to represent Germany on the international stage.
He has 15 caps for Germany U21 and represented Germany national team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The Bayern Munich defender produced a thrilling performance in the title game, preventing Argentine star Leo Messi from scoring. Boateng won the World Cup trophy with German and it has to be noted that he clinched his fourth Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich in the 2015/2016 season.
In 2013 he helped the mighty Bavarians win the Champions League trophy. Unlike Jerome, his older brother Kevin-Prince Boateng plays for the Ghanaian national team. The Bayern Munich defender has a contract with the Allianz Arena outfit which expires on 30 June, 2012.
Highlighted Team (Angers):
French Football Federation was founded in 1919, with French football club Angers being founded the same year. Les Scoistes returned to the French top flight at the end of the 2014/2015 season and they finished the 2015/2016 Ligue 1 campaign in ninth place in the standings.
Angers were having their ups and downs in the 2016/2017 season and, as a result, they finished 12th. Les Scoistes are well known for their black jerseys with white stripes, whilst the color of their away kits is white. Stade Raymond Kopa is the team’s home ground and the capacity of the stadium is 17.835.
The venues was opened back in 1912 and the stadium’s record attendance is 22.989 (April 26, 1969 vs. Olympique Marseille). Speaking of the club’s most notable players, we have to mention Fahid Ben Khalfallah, Vladica Kovacevic, Claudiu Keseru, Paul Alo’o, Amar Rouai and Cedric Daury. It has to be noted that the 2017/2018 season will be their 24th in the French top flight.
