Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Stade Velodrome will be the centre of attention when Olympique Marseille and Monaco lock horns in the Ligue 1 derby on Sunday evening. OM aim to build on a 3-1 win over Lens and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play. Bearing any fresh injury worries, Roberto De Zerbi is unlikely to make changes to the team that defeated les Sang et Or at the weekend, but all Pol Lirola, Amine Harit, Derek Cornelius, Valentin Carboni, Faris Moumbagna, and Ruben Blanco continue to miss out with injuries.
Les Rouges et Blancs, on the other hand, recorded a hard-fought win over Brest in their last league match, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in Marseille. Anyhow, over 2.5 goals betting option should be considered as there have been two or more goals in three of the previous four meetings between the two sides. Last time out Marseille and Monaco played out a 2-2 draw at Stade Velodrome. All Krepin Diatta, Folarin Balogun, and Edan Diop are injured for the away team.
Highlighted Player (Amine Harit):
Amine Harit is a French-born Moroccan footballer, who plays for Schalke 04 in Bundesliga. Born in Pontoise (France) on June 18, 1997, Harit began his youth career in the suburbs of Paris, learning the football basics with Argentuil C.O.
After spending four years at Esperance Paris 19eme, the attacking midfielder moved to famous French club Paris Saint-Germain. However, he quickly returned to Esperance Paris 19eme and in 2011 he joined fellow French club Red Star. One year later he moved to Nantes, where he ended his youth career.
Amine Harit continued playing for les Canaris at senior level and after scoring one goal in 30 league games for Nantes, he signed a contract with Bundesliga side Schalke 04. Harit made two appearances for France U21 team, but he represents Morocco at senior level. The attacking midfielder, who is used as a winger as well, made his Morocco debut on October 7, 2017 against Gabon in the 2018 FIFA world cup qualifiers.
Highlighted Team (Monaco):
Though based in Monaco, Les Rouges et Blances – as they are commonly referred to – play their games in the French football league system. Members of the top tier Ligue 1, Monaco play their home matches at the Stade Louis II in Fontvieille in front of 18,500 people. The Principality club boasts a turbulent history, which saw Monaco reach the highest heights of both domestic and international scene, but also get relegated to the amateur leagues at the very beginnings and to Ligue 2 in 2010-11 season.
The following year AS Monaco were acquired by the Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, whose heavy investments turned the Principality club into one of the biggest spenders in Europe in 2013 and reestablishing its place among Europe’s top clubs.
AS Monaco have had notable European results in the modern football era having been runners-up in the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1992 and the UEFA Champions League in 2004. One of the most successful clubs in France AS Monaco have so far won seven league titles and five Coupe de France trophies.
