Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Buoyed by a splendid 5-1 win over Brest, Olympique Marseille will look to retain top position in the standings when they take on Reims at their Stade Velodrome on Sunday evening. OM obviously aim to play an important role in the Ligue 1 this term and they are surely capable of beating Reims in front of home fans. A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be former Manchester United man Mason Greenwood, who scored a brace in the season opener.
All Faris Moumbagna, Ismael Kone, Valentin Carboni, and Ruben Blanco should miss out with injuries. Les Rouges et Blancs, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 2-0 loss to Lille, which is yet another reason why we are going to bet on Roberto De Zerbi’s troops. As for the away team, midfielder Amadou Kone is banned for the match, while both Amine Salama and Mohammed Daramy miss out with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Amine Harit):
Amine Harit is a French-born Moroccan footballer, who plays for Schalke 04 in Bundesliga. Born in Pontoise (France) on June 18, 1997, Harit began his youth career in the suburbs of Paris, learning the football basics with Argentuil C.O.
After spending four years at Esperance Paris 19eme, the attacking midfielder moved to famous French club Paris Saint-Germain. However, he quickly returned to Esperance Paris 19eme and in 2011 he joined fellow French club Red Star. One year later he moved to Nantes, where he ended his youth career.
Amine Harit continued playing for les Canaris at senior level and after scoring one goal in 30 league games for Nantes, he signed a contract with Bundesliga side Schalke 04. Harit made two appearances for France U21 team, but he represents Morocco at senior level. The attacking midfielder, who is used as a winger as well, made his Morocco debut on October 7, 2017 against Gabon in the 2018 FIFA world cup qualifiers.
Highlighted Team (Reims):
Reims are a French football club founded in 1931. Reims welcome their rivals at Stade Auguste Delaune, which can hold up to 21,684 people. Believe it or not, Reims won six Ligue 1 titles (1948/1949, 1952/1953, 1954/1955, 1957/1958, 1959/1960, 1961/1962). To make things even better for the fans, Reims participated in the European Cup final on two occasions.
In 1956 they faced Real Madrid in the title game and despite taking the lead after six minutes, the French side eventually suffered a 4-3 loss to los Blancos at Parc des Princes. Three years later Reims had a chance to get their revenge on Real Madrid, but the Spanish giants once again won the European Cup, with Mateos and Di Stefano finding the net in the 2-0 victory over Albert Batteux.
The club’s most notable footballer is Just Fontaine, who scored 13 goals for France at the 1958 FIFA World Cup finals. Reims’ home colours are red and white, with the team wearing white when playing on the road.
