Olympique Marseille and Rennes face each other at Stade Velodrome in what is expected to be a very exciting game. The club chiefs did well to reinforce the squad in the summer transfer window, and, as a result, OM sit in third place in the standings with one game in hand. Important attacker Dmitri Payet missed the triumph over Monaco through suspension, and, to make things even worse for Jorge Sampaoli, the former Premier League ace suffered thigh injury as well. Alvaro Gonzalez is banned, while Sunday’s game comes too early for Arkadiusz Milik, who is closing in on a return.
Rennes, on the other hand, aim to make amends for back-to-back losses to Angers (0-2) and Reims (0-2). The visitors have been struggling in front of goal of late, and seeing that the hosts will be without a towering centre-forward in Sunday’s clash, under 2.5 goals betting option should be considered. Dogan Alemdar has been tested positive for coronavirus, while all Birger Meling, Jeremy Doku, and Jeremy Gelin are sidelined with injuries.

After starting his senior career at Sparta Rotterdam, Kevin Strootman joined fellow Dutch side Utrecht in 2011. The defensive midfielder, who was born on February 13, 1990 in Ridderkerk, Netherlands, then moved to PSV where he established himself as a first-team regular. Strootman was then spotted by AS Roma scouts and in 2013 he decided to take a step forward in his career by joining the Giallorossi.
On March 9, 2014, the Dutch footballer sustained a serious knee injury that made him miss the remainder of the 2013/2014 Serie A season. He missed the 2014 FIFA World Cup as well, but he returned to contention on November 9, 2014. Kevin Strootman played for Roma until August 28 when he signed a five-year contract with Olympique Marseille.
