Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Stade Municipal Saint-Symphorien will host Saturday’s football game between Metz and St Etienne. Les Grenats suffered yet another dip in form, with the team losing each of their last three league fixtures. Metz conceded ten goals in total in the previous three Ligue 1 games, and, no doubt, they are low on confidence ahead of the visit of St Etienne. All Lenny Joseph, Sikou Niakate, Boubakar Kouyate, Ibrahima Niane, and Manuel Cabit are all out of contention with injuries.
Les Verts, on the other hand, head into the match following a 2-2 draw with Angers. St Etienne have been playing some high-scoring games of late as well, and, taking everything into account, over 2.5 goals betting option should be considered. All Trauco, Kolodziejczak, Green, and Sissoko are sidelined through injuries, but there are no suspended players in the away team.
Highlighted Player (Opa Nguette):
After spending his youth career at Mantes and Valenciennes, Opa Nguette made his senior debut for Mantes in 2011. In 2012 he returned to his boyhood club Valenciennes and it has to be noted that the attacker scored 8 goals in 60 appearances for the club from 2012 to 2016.
Opa Nguette is currently playing for Metz in Ligue 1 and his contract with the club expires on June 30, 2019. The pacey footballer who is capable of playing as both left and right winger has three caps for France U20 team, but he made his senior debut with Senegal. Opa Nguette played 65 minutes in a 1-1 draw with Nigeria on his debut for the Senegal national team.
The Caen attacker, who was born in Mantes-la-Jolie on July 8, 1994, scored four goals for Metz in the 2016/2017 Ligue 1 campaign. He made three assists for his teammates as well during the season and you should bear in mind that he played 33 games in the league for les Grenats.
Highlighted Team (St Etienne):
Saint Etienne are a professional football club that compete in French Ligue 1. Les Verts were founded in 1919 by employees of a grocery store chain based in Saint Etienne. Saint Etienne wear green shirts and white shorts when playing at home ground and they play their home matches at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.
The stadium was opener on 13 September, 1931 and following the renovation the capacity of the venue increased to 42 000. In 1981 les Verts won their tenth Ligue 1 trophy, but they have been in the shadow of Ligue 1 giants Lyon and PSG in the 21st century.
Speaking of the club’s European success, Saint Etienne made it to the European Cup (Champions League) final in 1976, but Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich proved to be a big catch for the French outfit. Anyhow, that is regarded as the club’s biggest success. It has to be noted that the likes of Michel Platini, Jacques Santini, Laurent Blanc and Aime Jacquet all played for Saint Etienne in the past.
