Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
High-flying Monaco will look to extend their winning run in Ligue 1 to six games when they host Clermont to their Stade Louis II on Sunday afternoon. Les Rouges et Blancs look unstoppable at the moment, but head coach Philippe Clement can’t afford any complacency against les Lanciers. All Gelson Martins, Kevin Volland, Ruben Aguilar, and Willem Geubbels are out of contention with injuries for the home side, while the opposition back-line should have summer signing Breel Embolo at bay.
Clermont, on the other hand, have been making progress week by week, with the team heading into Sunday’s encounter following back-to-back wins over Ajaccio and Auxerre. Pascal Gastien’s men, though, are not regarded as good travellers, and given Monaco’s splendid form, home win should be considered. Johan Gastien is banned for the match, while both Mehdi Zeffiane and Jeremie Bela remain in the recovery room.
