Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Montpellier and Nantes face each other at Stade de la Mosson in the Ligue 1 round 31 curtain-raiser. La Paillade have been in a fine form of late, with the team winning three of their last four league matches and they must be brimming with confidence ahead of Friday’s encounter. Fit-again Jordan midfielder Mousa Al-Tamari is widely expected to return to the starting XI after scoring as a substitute in a 2-1 win over Reims, while defender Theo Sainte-Luce remains in the recovery room.
Les Canaris, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-0 loss to Rennes, which is yet another reason why we are going to bet on the in-form hosts. In their last meeting at the venue Nantes defeated Montpellier 2-0 and we predict that history is going to repeat itself. All Tino Kadewere, Moses Simon, and Bastien Meupiyou are out of contention with injuries for the visiting side.
Highlighted Player (Christopher Jullien):
Christopher Jullien is a professional footballer who plays for Toulouse as a defender. The 195-cm-tall centre-back played for Auxere youth team from 2005 to 2011 and he made his first-team debut for the club on August 24, 2012 in a 2-1 win over Stade Lavallois.
Christopher Jullien scored his first ever goal a week later in a Coupe de la Ligue clash against Dijon. The French defender made 25 appearances in the league for Auxerre and in 2013 he moved to Germany, signing a professional contract with Freiburg. Jullien made only one appearance for the first team, but it has to be noted that he scored five goals in 49 games for the second team. After ending his loan spell with Dijon in the summer of 2016, he signed a four-year deal with Ligue 1 side Toulouse.
Christopher Jullien scored four goals, while providing one assist for his teammates in the 2016/2017 Ligue 1 campaign. The French footballer was born on March 22, 1993 in Lagny-sur-Marne and his preferred foot is right.
Highlighted Team (Nantes):
Founded on April 21, 1943 Nantes is a professional football club that compete in French Ligue 1. Les Canaris are considered one of the most famous French clubs and they had a lot of success during the sixties and the seventies. Nantes won their first Ligue 1 title in the 1964/1965 season and 36 years later (2000/2001) they clinched their eighth (last) domestic trophy.
Speaking of the club’s European success, les Canaris did well to make it to the Champions League semis in 1996, but Italian giants Juventus proved to be a big catch for the French outfit. Nantes welcome their rivals at La Beaujoire-Louis Fonteneau and the capacity of the stadium is 38.004.
The likes of Vahid Halilhodzic, Adel Selimi, Michel Der Zakarian, Viorel Moldovan, Mario Yepes, Marcel Desailly, Didier Deschamps, Claude Makelele, Christian Karembeu and Dimitri Payet are the notable footballers who played for the club in the past. Nantes are well known for their yellow jerseys and that is the reason why they are nicknamed the Canaries (les Canaris).
