Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
PSG will look to put icing on the cake on a very successful Ligue 1 campaign when they host Metz to their Parc des Princes on Matchday 38. Les Parisiens rolled over Montpellier 4-0, and it is no wonder the bookies see them as hot favourites to beat Metz in the “City of Lights”. Neymar is back from suspension, and with both Messi and Mbappe being in a fine form, home win should definitely be considered.
Les Grenats, on the other hand, are fighting hard to avoid automatic relegation to Ligue 2. Since Metz are not regarded as good travelers, anything but a routine home win would be a major surprise. In the first half of the season les Parisiens defeated les Grenats 2-1. As for the visiting side, Nicolas De Preville misses out through suspension, while all Fabien Centonze, Ibrahim Amadou, and Habib Maiga are sidelined with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Kylian Mbappé):
Kylian Mbappe is a French footballer who plays for Paris Saint-Germain as a forward. The French rising star began his youth career at AS Bondy and in 2013 he moved to AS Monaco. After making 12 appearances for Monaco B, Kylian Mbappe made his debut for the senior team in 2015. Mbappe quickly established himself as a regular goalscorer, with the teenager finding the net 15 times in 29 appearances in the Ligue 1 in the 2016/2017 season.
In 2017 he moved to fellow French club PSG on loan, with the option of making the deal permanent. Kylian Mbappe scored 13 goals in 27 appearances for les Parisiens in the 2017/2018 and it has to be noted that Unai Emery’s troops eventually won the national championship.
Speaking of his international career, Mbappe played an important role for France at the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals, with the pacey rising star scoring a brace in a thrilling 4-3 win over Argentina in the last 16 of the showpiece tournament. The PSG attacker was born in Paris on December 20, 1998.
Highlighted Team (Metz):
Thanks to amalgamation of two amateur clubs Metz were founded in 1932 and soon they became a professional team. Les Grenats are one of the oldest professional teams in France, but they have yet to win the Ligue 1 trophy. Metz finished the 1997/1998 season in second place in the standings and it has to be noted that they were level on points with champions Lens (worse goal difference).
However, les Grenats won Coupe de France on two occasions (1983/1984, 1987/1988), with the team beating Monaco and Sochaux respectively in the title games. Emmanuel Adebayor is considered one of the most famous players who whore Metz jersey and you should know that the Togolese attacker scored 15 goals in 44 appearances in the league for the club.
Metz play their home games at Stade Saint-Symphorien, the venue which was opened back in September, 1923. Les Grenats wear red shirts and white shorts when playing at home, whilst the colour of their away kits is white.
