Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Buoyed by a 3-1 win over Montpellier, PSG will look to retain top position in the Ligue 1 table when they take on Toulouse on Matchday 22. Les Parisiens proved their worth in the midweek triumph, and they are seen as hot favourites to beat les Pitchouns in front of home fans as well. Neymar remains on the sidelines with a muscle injury, while Marco Verratti serves the last of his two-game ban.
To make things even worse for the reigning champions, both Kylian Mbappe and Sergio Ramos limped off with injuries in the triumph over La Paillade. The visitors, on the other hand, have been impressive in 2023, with the team winning four of their last five league fixtures, while sharing the spoils with Brest. Toulouse, though, will have a much bigger fish to fry against Christophe Galtier’s troops, who are a real force to be reckoned with at home. There are no fresh injury worries in the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Sergio Ramos):
Over the years Sergio Ramos has established himself as one of the best defenders in the world. The Spanish footballer was born in Camas on 30 March, 1986 and he is a product of Sevilla’s youth academy. He made 39 league appearances for Sevilla and he played 26 games for the reserve team as well from 2003 to 2005.
In the summer of 2005 Sergio Ramos signed a deal with Real Madrid for a fee of €27 million and it has to be noted that he made 33 appearances for the capital club in the 2005/2006 La Liga campaign. The 183-cm-tall full back is capable of playing as a right back as well and, as a result, he often scores for Real Madrid.
Sergio Ramos helped Real Madrid win two Champions League trophies (2013/2014, 2015/2016) and he has three La Liga titles with los Blancos. The Spanish defender won the 2010 FIFA World Cup with la Furia Roja, while clinching Euro 2008 and 2010 titles with the Spanish national team as well.
Highlighted Team (Toulouse):
Toulouse are a professional football club that compete in Ligue 1. Les Pitchouns are well known for their purple jerseys with white stripes and it has to be noted that they used to wear red and yellow jerseys in the past. Toulouse welcome their opponents at Stadium Municipal and the capacity of the team’s home ground is 33.150. Stadium Municipal was used as a venue for the 1998 FIFA World Cup.
In 1982 the club secured promotion to the Ligue 1 for the first time ever and you should bear in mind that the likes of Jacques Santini and Daniel Jeandupeux were part of the team. A win over Napoli in the round 1 of the 1986/1987 UEFA Cup is considered one of the club’s biggest success as football legend Diego Maradona played for the Italian team back then, attacker Daniel Jeandupeux scored the winner for Toulouse in the penalty shoot-out. Bordeaux are regarded as the club’s fiercest rivals and the two teams face each other in Derby de la Garonne.
