Columbus will be aiming to record their first win of the season when they take on DC United at MAPFRE Stadium on Saturday evening. Columbus failed to impress in a goalless draw with Montreal, and they were more than fortunate to grab something from the match. Key attacker Gyasi Zardes was sorely missed at the weekend, and if he fails to recover in time to face DC United, veteran Bradley Wright-Phillips will continue to lead the line for the hosts.
The capital club, on the other hand, aim to make amends for back-to-back defeats to New England Revolution and San Jose Earthquakes. DC United continue to struggle on the travels, but given Columbus’ display in the draw with Montreal, share of spoils is on the cards at MAPFRE Stadium. All Arriola, DeShields, Hamid, Odoi-Atsem, Paredes, and Reyna have been struggling with injuries.

After spending his youth career at Lagos Islanders and Union Bank, Fanendo Adi moved to Trencic of Slovakia in 2009. The Nigeria international played for the likes of Metalurh Donetsk, Dynamo Kiev, Tavriya Simferopol, Copenhagen and Portland Timbers as well before joining FC Cincinnati.
Adi was born in Lagos (Nigeria) on October 10, 1990 and he has two caps for the Nigeria U23 national team. However, he has yet to make his debut for the senior team. The Cincinnati forward was called up to the senior squad in the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, but he did not see any game action. Fanendo Adi made his MLS debut for Cincinnati on March 3, 2019 in a 4-1 loss to Seattle Sounders.
His main position is centre forward and his preferred foot is right. His biggest success is winning of the 2015 MLS Cup where Portland Timbers defeated Columbus Crew 2-1 in the title game.

D.C. United have been participating in the Eastern Conference of the MLS since 1996. The capital club play their home games at RFK Stadium Washington and they are nicknamed the Black and Red. D.C. United won their fourth MLS Cup in 2004 and in 1998 the club clinched the Copa Interamericana trophy by beating Vasco da Gama of Brazil in the title game.
The Black and Red won the Eastern Conference on five occasions (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2004) and, as a result, they are regarded as one of the most successful clubs in the history of MLS.
