Columbus Crew and DC United face each other in a highly-anticipated MLS game at MAPFRE Stadium. Columbus Crew head into the match with a severely-weakened squad as all Wormgoor, Williams, Valenzuela, and Morris are sidelined with injuries, while Zardes is unlikely to feature following his participation at the 2021 Gold Cup. Since Columbus experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 4-1 loss to New York City, home win should not be considered.
The capital club, on the other hand, played out a goalless draw with Cincinnati in their last league match. Even though both Nyeman and Mora are banned for the match, we are tempted to put our money on draw as Columbus failed to impress in their last league fixture. Both Flores and Hines-Ike are out of contention through injuries, while Pines and Arriola are still on international duty with USA.

After spending his youth career at Lagos Islanders and Union Bank, Fanendo Adi moved to Trencic of Slovakia in 2009. The Nigeria international played for the likes of Metalurh Donetsk, Dynamo Kiev, Tavriya Simferopol, Copenhagen and Portland Timbers as well before joining FC Cincinnati.
Adi was born in Lagos (Nigeria) on October 10, 1990 and he has two caps for the Nigeria U23 national team. However, he has yet to make his debut for the senior team. The Cincinnati forward was called up to the senior squad in the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, but he did not see any game action. Fanendo Adi made his MLS debut for Cincinnati on March 3, 2019 in a 4-1 loss to Seattle Sounders.
His main position is centre forward and his preferred foot is right. His biggest success is winning of the 2015 MLS Cup where Portland Timbers defeated Columbus Crew 2-1 in the title game.

D.C. United have been participating in the Eastern Conference of the MLS since 1996. The capital club play their home games at RFK Stadium Washington and they are nicknamed the Black and Red. D.C. United won their fourth MLS Cup in 2004 and in 1998 the club clinched the Copa Interamericana trophy by beating Vasco da Gama of Brazil in the title game.
The Black and Red won the Eastern Conference on five occasions (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2004) and, as a result, they are regarded as one of the most successful clubs in the history of MLS.
