Our prediction for this MLS match:
Los Angeles Galaxy and Orlando City face each other at Dignity Health Sports Park in a highly-anticipated MLS game. LA Galaxy kicked off the new MLS campaign with back-to-back wins over New York City and Charlotte, but they were beaten by Seattle Sounders in their last league fixture. The hosts aim to return to winning ways as soon as possible, and the bookies see them as favourites to win Saturday’s clash.
The likes of Julian Gaines, Erik Duenas, and Eddie Segura should miss out with injuries for the home side. The Lions, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 2-1 loss to Cincinatti, who are not regarded as one of the teams to beat in the MLS. LA Galaxy are a real force to be reckoned with at home, and we predict that Javier Hernandez Chicharito and Co. will pick up all three points from the match. There are no fresh injury worries in the away side.
Highlighted Player (Jonathan dos Santos):
While playing at a youth tournament in France, Jonathan Dos Santos was spotted by FC Barcelona scouts, who were delighted with what they saw. The Barca chiefs decided to bring Jonathan and his brother Giovani to La Masia, with both passing the trial.
The Mexican midfielder, who was born in Monterrey on April 26, 1990, scored 6 goals in 81 appearances for Barcelona B from 2009 to 2012, but he played no more than 14 games for the senior team in the Spanish top flight. On July 9, 2014 Jonathan dos Santos moved to Villareal and he scored his first La Liga goal in December against Deportivo La Coruna.
The Mexico international played an important role at Villarreal until 2017 when he decided to sign a contract with MLS club Los Angeles Galaxy. The biggest success of his career, though, is winning the UEFA Champions League title in the 2010/2011 season with Barca. Unlike his brother, Jonathan’s preferred foot is right.
Highlighted Team (Orlando City):
Orlando City are a member of the Eastern Conference in Major League Soccer. The Lions have been participating in the major league since 2015 and they host their rivals at Orlando City Stadium. The venue was opened in February, 2017 and the construction of the stadium cost $155 million. Orlando City finished the 2015 MLS season in seventh place in the Eastern Conference and they failed to make it to the play-offs in the 2016 season as well (8th place).
Brazilian ace Kaka is undisputedly the club’s most famous player and the former Real Madrid and Milan man became the highest-paid player in MLS history. His base salary was $6.6 million per year and it has to be noted that the Brazilian superstar found the net on his Orlando City debut against FC Dallas (friendly). Orlando City’s home kit is violet, while they wear white and violet shirts and white socks on the travels. The club’s official mascot is Kingston the Lion.
