New England Revolution
Allianz Field will host Sunday’s MLS game between Minnesota United and New England Revolution, the two teams who sit in the playoffs berth. The Loons are undefeated in the previous six league fixtures and they are surely capable of matching the Revs in front of home fans. All Bongokuhle Hlongwane, Kervin Arriaga, Robin Lod, and Ryen Jiba are sidelined with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the home team.
The Revs, on the other hand, head into the match following a 2-2 draw with Austin FC. New England Revolution continue struggling on the travels, which is probably the main reason why we are going to put our money on the home side. The likes of Ryan Spaulding, Jacob Jackson, Tomas Vaclik, Gustavo Bou, Brandon Bye, Henry Kessler, Dylan Borrero, and Maciel are out of contention through injuries for the visiting team.

Wil Trapp is an American footballer who plays for Columbus Crew in MLS as a midfielder. Born in Columbus, Ohio, Trapp played for Akron Zips during his college career and in 2013 he returned to his hometown club Columbus Crew. Over the years the 173-cm tall footballer has established himself as a first-team regular and thanks to his thrilling performances in the Major League Soccer, he earned a place in the USA national team.
Wil Trapp made his USA debut on January 28, 2015 in a 3-2 loss to Chile. The Columbus man did well to wear captain’s armband in a friendly game against Bosnia and Herzegovina in January, 2018. Speaking of his club success, Trapp made it to the Eastern Conference play-offs with Columbus in 2015. His main position is defensive midfielder, but he is used as a centre midfielder as well.
The American footballer graduated from Lincoln High School where he was named the 2010 NSCAA National High School Player of the Year.

Unlike famous NFL club New England Patriots, the Revolution have yet to win the domestic trophy. New England participated five times in the MLS Cup final, but they were more than fortunate not to lift the silverware. The Revs played their last final in 2014, with the team losing to LA Galaxy in the title game at StubHub Center. New England Revolution, though, clinched the North American SuperLiga trophy in 2008 and that is considered as the club’s biggest success.
It has to be noted that the Revs defeated Houston Dynamo on penalties in the final of the tournament. New England Revolution were founded in 1994 and Gillette Stadium is the home ground of the club. Legendary defender Alexi Lalas played for the Revolution (1996-1997) and he scored three goals for the Gillette Stadium outfit. Fellow USA ace Clint Dempsey was part of the team as well and you should know that he netted 25 goals in 71 league appearances for the club.
