Our prediction for this MLS match:
All eyes will be on Exploria Stadium when Orlando City and Inter Miami square off against each other in the Major League Soccer. The Lions experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 5-3 loss to DC United, but they are still seen as favourites to beat Inter Miami, who are not enjoying a season to remember. Uruguay international Facundo Torres is pushing for a start after scoring as a substitute against the capital club, while goalkeeper Mason Stajduhar remains in the recovery room.
Inter Miami, on the other hand, head into Sunday’s clash following a 1-1 draw with Dallas. The Herons, though, are not regarded as good travelers, and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Orlando City’s party at Exploria Stadium. As for the visiting side, all Robbie Robinson, Nick Marsman, Brek Shea, and Ian Fray are out of contention through injuries.
Highlighted Player (Sebastián Méndez):
Born in Mira, Ecuador, on April 26, 1997, Sebastian Mendez plays for Major League Soccer club Orlando City as a midfielder. Mendez began his youth career at Independiente del Valle and he continued playing for the Ecuadorian side at senior level.
After scoring four goals in 81 appearances in the league for Independiente, the Ecuador international moved to Orlando City in 2019, but it has to be noted that he played for Cultural Leonesa on loan in the past as well. Mendez made his MLS debut against New York City on March 2, 2019 and he was replaced by Nani in the 70th minute.
As for his international career, the Orlando City midfielder played his first ever match for the Ecuador national team on September, 12, 2019 against Guatemala. The Ecuadorians won the game 2-0, with Mendez being replaced in 73rd minute of the match. His main position is defensive midfielder, but he is capable of playing as a central midfielder as well.
Highlighted Team (Inter Miami):
Inter Miami is an American football (soccer) club that has been competing in the Major League Soccer since 2020. The Herons faced Los Angeles FC on their MLS debut, with the team suffering a 1-0 loss at Venue Banc of California Stadium.
Inter Miami recorded their first MLS win on August 23, 2020, with the team beating Orlando City 3-2 during the coronavirus pandemic. The Herons wear white shirts and violet shorts when playing at home, while black is the dominant colour of their away jersey. Inter Miami welcome their rivals at Inter Miami FC Stadium, the venue which can hold no more than 18,000 spectators.
The stadium was opened on July 18, 2020. Former Manchester United and England ace David Beckham shares the ownership of the club with the likes of Marcelo Claure, Jorge and Jose Mas, and Masayoshi Son. Uruguay tactician Diego Alonso is the first head coach in the history of the club.
