Our prediction for this MLS match:
Earthquakes Stadium will host Wednesday’s football game between San Jose Earthquakes and Minnesota United. San Jose are undefeated in the previous eight league fixtures, which is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Minnesota. Even though all Abecasis, Akanyirige, Bersano, and Kikanovic are sidelined through injuries, we predict that the hosts are going to grab something from the midweek clash.
The Loons, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to LA Galaxy. Minnesota have been playing some low-scoring game of late, and seeing that under 2.5 goals have been netted in five of San Jose’s previous six league fixtures, we are unlikely to see goals galore at Earthquakes Stadium. The likes of Fragapane, Hansen, and Lod are all out of contention with injuries for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Danny Hoesen):
After making only one league appearance for Fortuna Sittard, Danny Hoesen joined English club Fulham in 2009, but he did not see any game action for the capital club during his spell at Craven Cottage as he was sent on loan to HJK and Fortuna Sittard.
In 2012 the 186-cm tall attacker signed a deal with Ajax and he scored seven goals in 32 league appearances for the Amstedammers from 2012 to 2014. In 2014 he joined fellow Eredivisie outfit Groningen and during the 2016/2017 season he was on San Jose Earthquakes’ radar. The Dutch footballer, who was born on January 15, 1991 in Heerlen, Limburg will play for the MLS outfit (on loan) in the 2017 season.
Speaking of his international career, Daniel Hoesen has 10 caps for Netherlands U17 team and he made three appearances for the Dutch U21 side. He is still a Groningen player and his contract with the Eredivisie side expires on June 30, 2018.
Highlighted Team (Minnesota United):
Based in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area, Minnesota United are a professional soccer club that will compete in the Western Conference in the Major League Soccer from 2017. The Loons will make their MLS debut against Portland Timbers on March 4, 2017 and, no doubt, they have big ambitions for the forthcoming season.
Minnesota United are the sixth team to join MLS from a lower division and they will welcome their rivals at TCF Bank Stadium. The capacity of the stadium is 52.525 and it was opened in September, 2009. Bill McGuire is the club’s owner and he is on a quest to turn Minnesota United into a top-table side in the Western Conference.
Adrian Heath will be in charge of the club in the 2017 season and it has to be noted that the English tactician used to train the likes of Manchester City, Everton, Aston Villa and Espanyol in the past. You should know that the club was founded on March 25, 2015.
