Our prediction for this MLS match:
High-flying Toronto will look to extend their winning run to six games in all competitions when they take on New York City in the Major League Soccer. Toronto have a chance to overtake Cincinnati in second place and they are likely to go all guns blazing at the Blue Pigeons. A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be Italian star Federico Bernardeschi, who scored a brace in a 3-1 win over Dallas, while all Shane ONeill, Lorenzo Insigne, Richie Laryea, Brandon Servania, and Marshall-Rutty are out of contention with injuries.
New York City, meanwhile, failed to impress in a 2-0 loss to Colorado Rapids, which is yet another reason why we are going to put our money on the Reds. In their last meeting at the venue New York City defeated Toronto 2-1 and we predict that history is going to repeat itself. Both Rio Hope-Gund and Maxi Moralez miss out with injuries for the away team.
Highlighted Player (Lorenzo Insigne):
Born in Frattamaggiore, Naples on June 4, 1991, Lorenzo Insigne is an Italian footballer who plays for his hometown club Napoli in the Serie A. Insigne is a product of Olimpia Sant’Arpino football school, but he joined the Partenopei at the age of 15.
The diminutive attacker scored his first ever goal in the Italian top flight on September 16, 2012 in a 3-1 win over Parma. Insigne, who played for the likes of Cavese, Foggia and Pescara on loan before returning to Naples, made his debut with the Italian national team on September 11, 2012 in the World Cup qualifier against Malta.
The Napoli forward scored his first ever goal for the Azzurri in a friendly against Argentina on August 14, 2013. His main position is left winger, but he is used as a second striker as well. Lorenzo Insigne has a contract with Napoli until June 30, 2022.
Highlighted Team (New York City):
New York City are an American soccer club and they have been competing in Major League Soccer since 2015. The Pigeons play their home games at Yankee Stadium and they are the second club in New York after the New York Red Bulls.
Famous Arsenal player Patrick Vieira took over the reins in January, 2016 and he helped the team finish the season in second place in the Eastern Conference. However, they were totally outclassed by Toronto FC (0-7 on aggregate) in the conference semifinals.
New York City chiefs have been pumping up a lot of money into the squad ever since the team began play in MLS and it has to be noted that the likes of Andrea Pirlo and David Villa played for the Pigeons in the 2016 season. New York City footballers wear sky blue shirts when playing at home, while the colour of the team’s away kit is dark blue.
Companies City Football Group (80%) and Yankee Global Enterprises own the club.
