Our prediction for this Nations League match:
Expect a thrilling atmosphere at Parken Stadium when Denmark and Portugal square off against each other in the Nations League quarter-finals, first leg. The Danes aim to put an end to their four-game winless run and they are likely to fight tooth and nail against A Selecao. Rasmus Hojlund, who scored the opener in Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Leicester City, is widely expected to lead the line for the hosts, with the likes of Christian Eriksen (Man Utd), Jannik Vestergaard (Leicester City), Patrick Dorgu, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Morten Hjumland making the cut as well. Leipzig forward Yussuf Poulsen has been ruled out with injury.
Portugal, on the other hand, are undefeated in the previous six games in all competitions and will continue relying on experienced attacker Cristiano Ronaldo. Man City defender Ruben Dias is back to the squad, while Sporting Lisbon’s teenager Geovany Quenda has received his first call-up. Anyhow, away win should be considered as Roberto Martinez can count on key players for Thursday’s showdown.
Highlighted Player (Cristiano Ronaldo):

Cristiano Ronaldo is considered one of the world’s best football players. The Portuguese ace was born on 5 February, 1985 in Funchal, Madeira and he played for the likes of Andorinha, Nacional and Sporting during his youth career. CR7 made his Sporting debut in Primeira Liga on 7 October, 2002, scoring two goals in a 3-0 win over Moreirense.
Manchester United scouts spotted him and one year later he joined the Old Trafford outfit. Ronaldo became the most expensive teenager in the history of the Premier League and he received the number 7 shirt. He quickly established himself as the team’s key player and it has to be noted that he won three consecutive Premier League trophies with the Red Devils (2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009). In 2008 he helped the Old Trafford outfit beat Chelsea in the Champions League final, scoring for Alex Ferguson’s troops in the regular time.
Ronaldo joined Real Madrid in 2009 and he helped the Spanish giants with two Champions League trophies. In 2016 he won the European Championship trophy with Portugal. The Real Madrid ace has two Golden Ball awards (2013, 2014).
Highlighted Team (Denmark):

The Denmark national team participated at the World Cup finals on four occasions and they recorded their best result at the 1998 tournament. The Danes made it to the quarter-finals of the 1998 World Cup in France, but Brazil proved to be a big catch for the Nordic side. De Rod-Hvide did remarkably well to win the 1992 European Championship, but they were more than fortunate to qualify for the Euro 1992 finals.
Denmark finished their qualifying campaign in second place in the group, but thanks to Yugoslavia’s exclusion from the competition, the team booked their place at the Euro 1992 finals. Denmark impressed at the tournament in Sweden, with the team outplaying Germany in the title game (2-0).
Brothers Michael and Bryan Laudrup and goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel are regarded as Denmark’s most notable players. It has to be noted that Morten Olsen was in charge of the Danish national team from 2000 to 2015. The Danes play their home games at Telia Parken and the capacity of the venue is 38,065 (all-seater).
