Faroe Islands
Thursday’s UEFA Nations League game at LFF stadionas pits together Lithuania and Faroe Islands, the two teams who sit at the bottom of Group 1. The Lithuanians aim to put an end to their dreadful four-game losing run, and we are positive that they will fight tooth and nail against the Islanders. Both Sirvys and Armanavicius are pushing for a start after the duo came from the bench in a 2-0 loss to Turkey.
The visitors, on the other hand, are eyeing their second win of the process. When the two teams met in Torshavn three months ago Faroe Islands defeated Lithuania 2-1, and given the current atmosphere in the home team’s dressing room, away win should be considered. A man to keep an eye on in the away side will be Joannes Bjartalid, who scored a brace in a 2-2 draw with Luxembourg in the last group game.

Vytautas Andriuskevicius is a Lithuania international who plays for Portland Timbers as a left back. Andriuskevicius started his senior career at FBK Kaunas, but he made no more than 17 league appearances for the Lithuanian club from 2007 to 2010.
In 2010 he joined Polish outfit Lechia Gdansk and he spent three seasons at Stadion Energa Gdansk. After ending his spell with Lechia, Vytautas Andriuskevicius moved to Sweden, signing a deal with Djurgardens. He played 31 league games for the Iron Stoves and at the end of the 2013/2014 season he joined Cambuur.
After spending two seasons in the Dutch club, the Lithuanian footballer signed for Major League Soccer club Portland Timbers on July 14, 2016. Andriuskevicius is a full back who side position is centre back and it has to be noted that he was born on October 8, 1990 in Alytus, Lithuania. The 188-cm tall defender made his Lithuania debut on August 10, 2011 in a friendly against Armenia.

Faroe Islands gained membership of FIFA on July 2, 1988 and they played their first official game on August 24 against Iceland. They were beaten by the Icelanders in Akranes, but two years later they recorded probably the most significant victory in the history of the national team as they defeated Austria 1-0 in Euro 1992 qualifiers.
Faroe Islands have yet to qualify for a major tournament, but they have been making progress year by year. The Landsliðið play their home games at Torsvollur and the capacity of the venue is 6.000. Faroe Islands recorded their biggest win against Gibraltar on March 1, 2014 (4-1) and they suffered their biggest defeat in 1996 when they were beaten 8-1 by Yugoslavia in front of home fans.
In the 2016 European Championship qualifiers Faroe Islands recorded a double victory over Greece, but the minnows eventually failed to book their place at the showpiece tournament in France. The likes of Frodi Benjaminsen, Oli Johannesen, Rogvi Jacobsen, Todi Jonsson and Jakup Mikkelsen are the most notable footballers who played for the Faroe Islands national team.
