Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Thanks to a 2-0 win over Zwolle, Ajax moved one step closer to defending their Eredivisie trophy. The Amsterdammers face yet another easy task against Den Haag, but boss Erik ten Hag must warn his men against complacency. Since Ajax head into the match following the Europa League clash with Young Boys, ten Hag could opt to make changes to the starting XI. January signing Haller, who is ineligible to play in the Europa League, is widely expected to lead the line for the hosts.
Den Haag, on the other hand, failed to impress in back-to-back defeats to Heerenveen (0-3) and Heracles (1-2), and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Ajax’s party at Johan Cruijff Arena. Den Haag suit Ajax, with the Amsterdammers winning each of the previous five encounters between the two teams. As always, a man to watch in the home team will be Serbia international Dusan Tadic, who has been scoring goals for fun in all competitions.
Highlighted Player (Daley Blind):
Born in Amsterdam, Netherlands on March 9, 1990, Daley Blind is a professional footballer who plays for Eredivisie club Ajax. Blind is a product of the famous football school, and he made his debut with the Amsterdammers on December 7, 2018, against Volendam.
After a short loan spell with Groningen, Daley Blind join Premier League giants Manchester United for a fee of £13.8 million in August, 2014. After scoring four goals in 90 league appearances for the Red Devils, the Dutch footballer returned to Ajax in the summer of 2018. Speaking of his international career, Daley Blind made his Netherlands debut on February 6, 2013 in a 1-1 draw with Italy.
The following year the left-footed footballer represented Netherlands at the FIFA World Cup. He opened his goal-scoring account with the Oranje in a 3-0 loss to Brazil in the third-place play-off. As for his personal life, it has to be noted that Daley Blind is the son of the former Ajax defenders and the Netherlands boss Danny Blind.
Highlighted Team (Den Haag):
Ado Den Haag is a professional Dutch club based in Hague, the seat of the Netherlands government. De Ooievaars (The Storks) welcome their rivals at Cars Jeans Stadion, which can hold up to 15,000 spectators. Founded back in February, 1905, Den Haag are well known for their yellow shirts with green stripes, while their away kit is mainly sky blue.
De Ooievaars were the dominant force in the Netherlands Football League Championship during the World War II, with the team winning two domestic trophies (1941/42, and 1942/43). Den Haag have two KNVB Cup titles as well as they won the Dutch Cup in both 1967/68 and 1974/75 seasons. Legendary Netherlands tactician Dick Advocaat played for Den Haag on two occasions.
He scored seven goals in 147 league appearances from 1966 to 1973, and he returned to the club in 1979. Ajax and Feyenoord are considered the club’s biggest rivals. The rivalry between the clubs has become big due to hooligan fights before and after matches.
