Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
A place in the Europa Conference League will be at stake when AZ Alkmaar and Twente lock horns at AFAS Stadion on Sunday evening. The Cheese Farmers proved their worth in a thrilling 4-1 win over Heerenveen and they are likely to adopt yet another attack-minded approach against Twente. Mexx Meerdink is likely to prove a handful for the opposition back-line after scoring a hat-trick in the semis, while there are no fresh injury concerns in the home team.
The Reds, on the other hand, set up a meeting with AZ by beating NEC Nijmegen after extra-time. As tired legs should prove to be a big problem for the visiting team, we are tempted to place our bets on the home side. Adding to their woes, Twente defender Alec Van Hoorenbeeck is banned for the decider following his sending-off in the triumph over NEC.
Highlighted Player (Jordy Clasie):

Jordy Clasie is a product of the Feyenoord youth academy who plays for AZ Alkmaar as a midfielder. His main position is defensive midfield, but he is capable of producing fine displays as both central midfielder and centre-back as well.
Clasie played for the likes of Feyenoord, Excelsior (loan), Southampton, and Club Brugge (loan) before returning to Rotterdam. After ending his second spell with Feyenoord, the Dutch footballer joined AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2019. He made his AZ debut in the Eredivisie on August 4, 2019 in a 4-0 win over Fortuna Sittard.
Jordie Clasie has 12 caps with the Netherlands U21 team, and he made his senior debut in a 1-1 draw with Italy on February 6, 2013. Thanks to his elegant style of play, Clasie has earned the nickname of “Dutch Xavi”. The AZ Alkmaar midfielder was born in Haarlem, Netherlands on June 27, 1991.
Highlighted Team (Twente):
Based in the city of Enschede, Twente is a Dutch football club that welcomes their rivals at De Grolsch Veste. The venue was opened on May 10, 1998, and the capacity of the stadium is 30,205 people. The club was founded in 1965 as a merger of Sportsclub Enschede and Enschedese Boys.
The Reds did remarkably well to win the Eredivisie title in the 2009/10 season, with the team finishing the process only one point clear of Dutch giants Ajax. As a result, Twente booked their place in the Champions League group stages. The Reds did well to collect six points in their group, but that did not help them make it to the last 16.
Twente are well known for their red jerseys, but they wear dark blue shirts when playing on the travels. The Reds take on Heracles Almelo in the Twentse Derby. Sander Boshchker is leading Twente’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 653 goals on his account.
