Cambuur and Groningen square off against each other at Cambuur Stadion in what is expected to be a close game. The Yellow-Blues had to wait one year to secure promotion to the Eredivisie, and, no doubt, they will give 100% to impress on their return to the Dutch top flight. The club chiefs failed to keep hold of top scorer Robert Muhren, but Sam Hendriks, who ended his loan spell with Go Ahead Eagles, should play an important role in Sunday’s clash.
Groningen, on the other hand, were having their ups and downs in pre-season, with the team beating the likes of Osnabruck and Heerenveen, while losing to Borussia M’gladbach and Verl. The Green-White Army aim to kick off the new season in great manner, and seeing that they are likely to go for a win in Sunday’s game as well, both teams to score betting option should be considered. Jorgen Larsen, who scored nine goals in the Eredivisie last term, will be one of the men to watch in the away team.

Sergio Padt is a Dutch footballer who plays for Eredivisie club Groningen as a goalkeeper. Padt played for the likes of Pancratius, Hoofddorp, and Ajax during his youth career, but he did not see any game action with the Amsterdammers at senior level.
Following short loan spells with the likes of Haarlem and Go Ahead Eagles, Sergio Padt signed a deal with Belgian outfit Gent in June, 2011. After making 55 appearances for the club in the Belgian top flight, the Dutch shot-stopper joined Groningen in the summer of 2014. Sergio Padt did remarkably well to win the KNVB Cup with the Green-White Army in the 2014/15 season, with the team beating PEC Zwolle in the title game.
The Groningen goalkeeper, who was born on June 6, 1990, has five caps for the Netherlands U-21 team. Speaking of his senior career, he received two call-ups for the national team, but has yet to make his debut.

The Trots van het Noorden (Pride of the North) are well known for their white home shirts with red stripes, while purple is the dominant colour of their away kit. Volendam are considered the club’s fiercest rivals, but they have a rivalry with Twente as well after the 1980s incidents between their fans. Groningen have yet to win the Eredivisie trophy, but they did well to go all the way in the Dutch Cup in the 2014/15 season.
The green and whites defeated Zwolle 2-0 in the title game. Speaking of their European success, it has to be noted that Groningen participated in the Europa League on two occasions. In the 2015/16 season the Trots van het Noorden booked their place in the group stages of the competition, but they failed to record a win in the process.
