Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Following an expected loss at PSV, Cambuur will be aiming to return to winning ways in the Eredivisie when they take on Twente at their Cambuur Stadion. Henk de Jong’s troops made a slow start to the season, with the team conceding six goals in total in the first two league fixtures. The newcomers are desperate to give fans some cheer, and we predict that they will, at least, find the net in Saturday’s football game.
Head coach Henk de Jong should stick to the 4-3-3 formation. The Reds, on the other hand, did remarkably well to hold reigning champions Ajax to a 1-1 draw at the weekend. Since the visitors are high on spirits ahead of Saturday’s clash, we are tempted to put our money on both teams to score. In their last meeting in the Dutch top flight the two teams played out a 2-2 draw.
Highlighted Player (Joel Drommel):
Born on November 16, 1996, Joel Drommel is a Dutch footballer who plays for Twente as a goalkeeper. Drommel played for IJsselmeervogels youth team when Twente scouts spotted him. The shot-stopper was immediately brought to Enschede, and he has been playing for the Reds ever since.
He made his Eredivisie debut in September 2015 in a 2-2 draw with Ajax. Joel Drommel has 18 appearances with Jong FC Twente as well. Speaking of his international career, the talented goalkeeper has four caps with the Netherlands U21 team. He represented the Oranje at the UEFA U21 Championship in Italy 2019, making two appearances at the tournament.
It has to be noted that Joel Drommel used to play as a midfielder before turning goalkeeper. His fother Piet-Jan Drommel was a footballer as well, playing for the like of AZ Alkmaar and SC Telstar during his career. Joel Drommel is 193cm tall.
Highlighted Team (Twente):
Based in the city of Enschede, Twente is a Dutch football club that welcomes their rivals at De Grolsch Veste. The venue was opened on May 10, 1998, and the capacity of the stadium is 30,205 people. The club was founded in 1965 as a merger of Sportsclub Enschede and Enschedese Boys.
The Reds did remarkably well to win the Eredivisie title in the 2009/10 season, with the team finishing the process only one point clear of Dutch giants Ajax. As a result, Twente booked their place in the Champions League group stages. The Reds did well to collect six points in their group, but that did not help them make it to the last 16.
Twente are well known for their red jerseys, but they wear dark blue shirts when playing on the travels. The Reds take on Heracles Almelo in the Twentse Derby. Sander Boshchker is leading Twente’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 653 goals on his account.
