Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Buoyed by back-to-back wins over RKC Waalwijk and Fortuna Sittard, Emmen will be looking to give fans yet another reason for celebration when they take on Heracles in the Eredivisie round 30. A win over Heracles should see Emmen escape the relegation zone; therefore, we are positive that the hosts will leave their hearts on the field in De Oude Meerdijk clash. In their last home game in the Dutch top flight Dick Lukkien’s troops defeated RKC 3-1, which is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Heracles.
The Black and Whites, on the other hand, have been playing some high-scoring games of late, with over 2.5 goals being netted in six of their last seven league fixtures. Heracles, though, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in their last away game in the Eredivisie, which is the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on the relegation-threatened hosts.
Highlighted Player (Anco Jansen):
Born in Zwolle, Netherlands on March 9, 1989, Anco Jansen is a pacey winger who started his senior career in his home-town club FC Zwolle. After scoring two goals in 40 league appearances for the club, he joined Groningen in 2008, but he did not see any game action with the Green and White Army in the Eredivisie.
Anco Jansen played for the likes of Cambuur, SC Veendam, De Graafschap, Roda JC, and Boluspor as well before joining FC Emmen in 2017. Anco Jansen made his Eredivisie debut with FC Emmen in a 2-1 win over ADO Den Haag on August 12, 2018, with the winger finding the net after 42 minutes.
His main position is left winger, but he is used as both centre-forward and attacking midfielder as well. His preferred foot is right. Anco Jansen has yet to earn a call-up with the Netherlands national football team.
Highlighted Team (Heracles):
Heracles is a professional Dutch club based in Almelo. The club was formed back in May 1903 and named after Heracles, the demigod son of Zeus. From 1974 to 1998 the club played under the name of SC Heracles ’74. The Heraclieden’s home colours are black and white, while blue is the dominant colour of their away shirt.
Twente are considered one of the club’s main rivals in the Netherlands. Speaking of the club’s achievements, it has to be noted that Heracles have won two Eredivisie trophies (1926/27, 1940/41). In the 2011/12 season they made it to the Dutch Cup final. Heracles faced PSV in the title game, with the Dutch giants proving to be a big catch for the underdogs.
PSV won the game 3-0. In the 2016/17 season Heracles participated in the Europa League, with the team suffering elimination to Arouca in the third qualifying round. Everton is leading the club’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 77 goals.
