Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
After sharing the spoils with Vitesse at the weekend, Emmen will be aiming to return to winning ways in the Eredivisie when they take on Fortuna Sittard on Matchday 21. Emmen have a good chance to escape the relegation zone, but they will have to prove their worth on the field. Since Lorenzo Burnet limped off with injury in the last league match, fellow defender Dennis Vos is likely to return to the starting XI.
All Darfalou, Zivkovic, Mendes, Guclu, Hardeveld, and Kieftenbeld remain in the recovery room. The visitors, on the other hand, have been in a fine form of late, with the team beating both Heerenveen and Cambuur, while sharing the spoils with Sparta Rotterdam. Anyhow, home win should be considered as Emmen want this triumph more than Fortuna Sittard. Defender Roel Janssen should be the only absentee in the away team.
Highlighted Player (Anco Jansen):
Born in Zwolle, Netherlands on March 9, 1989, Anco Jansen is a pacey winger who started his senior career in his home-town club FC Zwolle. After scoring two goals in 40 league appearances for the club, he joined Groningen in 2008, but he did not see any game action with the Green and White Army in the Eredivisie.
Anco Jansen played for the likes of Cambuur, SC Veendam, De Graafschap, Roda JC, and Boluspor as well before joining FC Emmen in 2017. Anco Jansen made his Eredivisie debut with FC Emmen in a 2-1 win over ADO Den Haag on August 12, 2018, with the winger finding the net after 42 minutes.
His main position is left winger, but he is used as both centre-forward and attacking midfielder as well. His preferred foot is right. Anco Jansen has yet to earn a call-up with the Netherlands national football team.
Highlighted Team (Sittard):
Fortuna Sittard is one of the newer additions to Dutch football as the club was founded on July 1, 1968. During the 1990s talented footballers such as Kevin Hofland, Mark van Bommel, and Fernando Ricksen played for the club, but they failed to close the gap between Dutch giants Ajax and PSV. In 1999, though, the Fortunezen did well to make it to the Dutch Cup final, with the team facing Ajax in the title game.
Amsterdammers defeated Fortuna Sittard 2-0 at De Kuip, with Jesper Gronkjaer scoring a brace. Fortuna Sittard players wear yellow shirts and green shorts when playing at home, while their away kit is white. The Fortunezen host their rivals at Fortuna Sittard Stadion. The venue was built in 1999, and it can hold up to 12,500 spectators.
Aforementioned midfielder Mark Van Bommel is the most notable footballer who played for the club. After ending his spell with Fortuna Sittard in 1999, Mark van Bommel played for the likes of PSV, Barcelona, Bayern Munchen, and Milan.
