Buoyed by a 4-2 win over NAC Breda, Heerenveen will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they take on Ajax in an eagerly-awaited Eredivisie game. De Superfriezen kicked off 2025 in style, but they do not want to stop now. Bear in mind, though, that important Heerenveen defender Oliver Braude serves a one-game ban due to the accumulation of yellow cards.
The Amsterdammers, on the other hand, aim to recover from the KNVB Beker loss to AZ Alkmaar. As Heerenveen suit Ajax, we predict that Francesco Farioli’s troops are going to emerge triumphant in Sunday’s showdown. It has to be noted that Ajax have defeated Heerenveen in nine of their last ten meetings at Abe Lenstra Stadion in the national championship. Davy Klaassen is a product of Ajax’s youth academy. He played for the Amsterdammers at youth level from 2004 to 2012 and he made his debut for the senior team against Olympique Lyon in the Champions League group stages. Klaassen was born on 22 February, 1993 in Hilversum, Netherlands and he plays as an attacking midfielder.
He is capable of playing as a secondary striker as well and it has to be noted that the Dutch footballer scored 13 goals in 31 league appearances for Ajax in the 2015/2016 Eredivisie campaign. Klaassen has four caps for Netherlands U21 team and he made his debut for the first team on 5 March, 2014 in a friendly against France.
The Dutch midfielder scored his first goal for the national team against Spain on 31 March, 2015 and, no doubt, that was one of the brightest moments of his career. The Ajax footballer won his third Eredivisie trophy with the Amsterdammers in the 2013/2014 campaign.

Heerenveen is a Dutch football club that is well known for their white shirts with blue stripes. De Superfriezen (The Super Frisians) play home matches at Abe Lenstra Stadium, which has the capacity of 26,400 people.
Heerenveen have yet to win the Eredivisie title, but they impressed in the 1999/00 season, with the team finishing the process in second position in the standings. Thanks to a top-two finish, the club booked their place in the Champions League. Heerenveen, though, recorded only one in the group stages of the elite competition as they defeated Olympiakos 1-0 at home ground. De Superfizien retain a fierce rivals with Cambuur, and there have always been fireworks in clashes between the two teams.
It has to be noted that Heerenveen won the Dutch Cup in the 2008/09 season, with the team beating Twente on penalties in the title game. New Chelsea signing Hakim Ziyech played for Heerenveen at the start of his senior career.
