Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
After suffering an unexpected 2-1 loss at Cambuur, Heracles will be aiming to get back on course when they take on RKC Waalwijk in the Eredivisie round 7. The Black and Whites produce much better showings at home than on the travels, and, as a result, the bookies see them as favourites to win Sunday’s clash. Turkey international Sinan Bakis is pushing for a start after finding the net in the midweek defeat, whereas Denmark international Kasper Jakobsen remains in the recovery room.
RKC, on the other hand, extended their winless run to five games, with the team losing to Willem II on Tuesday evening. Considering that the visitors have been struggling at the back of late, we are tempted to put our money on Heracles. Goalkeeper Joel Pereira is sidelined with a hernia problem, while attacker David Min is a major doubt.
Highlighted Player (Janis Blaswich):
Janis Blawich is a German footballer who plays for Heracles Almelo as a goalkeeper. Blaswich started his senior career at Borussia Monchengladbach, make 125 appearances for the reserve team. In the 2015/16 season he was loaned to Dynamo Dresden where he made 30 league appearances.
Following his loan spell with the Yellow and Blacks, the 193-cm-tall shot-stopper moved to fellow German side Hansa Rostock, signing yet another loan deal. In 2018 he joined Dutch club Heracles Almelo, and he has been playing for the Heraclieden ever since. Janis Blaswich made his Eredivisie debut on August 11, 2018 in a 1-1 draw with Heracles, and he managed to keep his first clean sheet in the Dutch top flight the following month in a 4-0 win over De Graafschap.
The goalkeeper was born in Willich, Germany on May 2, 1991, and his preferred foot is right. Janis Blaswich wears the No. 1 shirt at Heracles.
Highlighted Team (Waalwijk):
RKC Waalwijk is a Dutch club that competes in the Eredivisie. RKC returned to the Dutch top flight in the 2019/20 season, and they were more than fortunate not to suffer relegation back to Eerste Divisie. Fred Grim’s men were stuck at the bottom of the table when the season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
As a result, they did not drop to the Dutch second tier. RKC play home games at Mandemakers Stadion, the venue which can hold only 7,500 spectators. RKC Waalwijk are well known for their yellow shirts with blue strips, but their away kit is mainly black. The Mandemakers Stadion outfit have never won the national championship.
RKC, though, represented the Netherlands in European competitions in the past, with team taking part in Intertoto Cup on four occasions. Willem II are seen as one of the club’s main rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the Brabantse derby.
