Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
NEC will be aiming to make amends for back-to-back defeats to Excelsior (3-4) and Heracles (1-2) when they face RKC Waalwijk in the Eredivisie round 3. Nijmegen have yet to record a win in the new domestic campaign, but it seems as if their performances are much better than the results. Forward Elayis Tavsan continues to miss out with injury, while defender Philippe Sandler is a major doubt and he will be assessed ahead of the kick-off.
Henk Fraser’s men have been struggling at the back of late as well, with the team conceding six goals in total in back-to-back losses to Heerenveen (1-3) and AZ Alkmaar (1-3). Anyhow, both teams to score betting option should be considered as both sides are eager to grab something from Saturday’s encounter. There are no fresh injury worries in the visiting team ahead of the trip to Gelderland.
Highlighted Team (Waalwijk):
RKC Waalwijk is a Dutch club that competes in the Eredivisie. RKC returned to the Dutch top flight in the 2019/20 season, and they were more than fortunate not to suffer relegation back to Eerste Divisie. Fred Grim’s men were stuck at the bottom of the table when the season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
As a result, they did not drop to the Dutch second tier. RKC play home games at Mandemakers Stadion, the venue which can hold only 7,500 spectators. RKC Waalwijk are well known for their yellow shirts with blue strips, but their away kit is mainly black. The Mandemakers Stadion outfit have never won the national championship.
RKC, though, represented the Netherlands in European competitions in the past, with team taking part in Intertoto Cup on four occasions. Willem II are seen as one of the club’s main rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the Brabantse derby.
