Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Expect an electrifying atmosphere at Philips Stadion when PSV and Ajax lock horns in the Eredivisie derby on Sunday. PSV are desperate to melt Ajax’s advantage to only three points and they have no other option but to go all guns blazing at the Amsterdammers. As Peter Bosz’s men are fully focused on the national championship following their elimination in the Champions League knockout stages, home win should be considered. Both Malik Tilman and Ricardo Pepi should miss out with injuries, while Jerdy Schouten is a major doubt.
Ajax, on the other hand, are on the right track to regain the Eredivisie trophy, but their performances before the international break were anything but brilliant. As Francesco Farioli’s men struggled defensively in a 2-2 draw with AZ Alkmaar, we are tempted to bet on PSV this time out. To make things even worse for the away team, defender Anton Gaaei misses Sunday’s derby through suspension, while all Owen Wijndal, Wout Weghorst, and Youri Regeer remain in the treatment room.
