Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
PSV and Utrecht go head to head at Philips Stadion in the Eredivisie round 15. The Rood-witten dropped two points in a 1-1 draw with Heerenveen, and, no doubt, they are desperate to return to winning ways as soon as possible. Roger Schmidt still has a number of selection worries, but given PSV’s attacking potential, we are positive that the title-chasing hosts are going to find the net in Saturday’s clash. Carlos Vinicius is widely expected to lead the line for PSV.
Utrecht, on the other hand, recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win over Heracles at the weekend. Rene Hake’s troops are eager to move closer to the Champions League berth, and seeing that they will adopt an attack-minded approach in Saturday’s game as well, we are tempted to put our money on over 2.5 goals. All Sylian Mokono, Christopher Mamengi, and Tommy St. Jago are likely to miss the game with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Mario Gotze):
Mario Gotze is a German midfielder, who played for Ronsberg and Eintrach Hombruch during his youth career before joining Borussia Dortmund in 2001. He made a great progress during his spell at the Borussia Dortmund’s youth academy and on 21 November, 2009 he made his Bundesliga debut for the Millionaires.
Gotze scored 22 goals in 83 league appearances for the club between 2009 and 2013 and he joined Borussia Dortmund’s bitterest rivals Bayern Munich on April, 2013. The German midfielder, who is capable of playing as a striker as well, failed to impress in the 2015/2016 Bundesliga campaign, but it has to be noted that he was struggling with injury at the start of the season.
Gotze won three Bundesliga trophies with Bayern Munich, but at the end of the 2015/2016 season he returned to Borussia Dortmund. In 2014 he represented Germany at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil and he scored the winner in the final against Argentina. Mario Gotze was born in Memmingen on 3 June, 1992.
Highlighted Team (Utrecht):
Established on July 1, 1970, Utrecht is a Dutch club that competes in the Eredivisie. The club was founded as a merger of VV DOS, USV Elinkwijk, and Velox, and it has to be noted that VV DOS did well to win the Eredivisie trophy back in 1958.
Utrecht, on the other hand, have yet to win the national championship, but they have lifted three KNVB Cup trophies (1984/85, 2002/03, 2003/04). Leo van Veen is leading the club’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 153 goals. Speaking of the club’s colours, they were white and red shirts when playing at home, while blue is the dominant colour of their away jersey.
Due to the hooligan clashes, Utrecht have a rivalry with Dutch giants Ajax. The games between the two clubs have always been very tense on the field. Utrecht welcome their rivals at Stadion Galgenwaard, the venue which can hold up to 23,750 people. The stadium was opened back in May 1936.
