Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Newly-promoted champions PSV will be aiming to record their sixth consecutive league win when they face Fortuna Sittard at Fortuna Sittard Stadion. Peter Bosz’s men obviously want to finish the season in style and we are positive that they will stick to their attacking style of play. All Serginio Dest, Isaac Babadi, and Noa Lang are out of contention with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the away team.
The hosts, on the other hand, have nothing to play for in the season finale as they are seven points behind the Conference League berth. As PSV look unstoppable at the moment, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the champions. Both Oguzhan Ozyakup and Michael Verrips are sidelined with injuries, while Arianit Ferati faces race against the clock to be fit for Sunday’s clash. Earlier this term PSV defeated Fortuna Sittard 3-1 at Philips Stadion.
Highlighted Player (Luuk de Jong):
The 26-year-old Dutch striker Luuk de Jong is considered one of Europe’s deadliest strikers with his incredible return of goals in games he spends playing. Luuk de Jong began his football career at De Graafschap in 2008, but moved on to Twente only a year later.
The tally of 39 goals in 76 league appearances earned him a transfer to Borussia Monchengladbach, but his spell in Germany ended in disappointment. Bundesliga club attempted to revive his career by sending him out on loan to Newcastle United but his stint with the English club yielded even more disappointment and concluded in utter disaster with De Jong playing 12 games without scoring a single goal for the Magpies.
A return to Netherlands and PSV Eindhoven turned out to be a proper hit for the 26-year-old striker who has restored his scoring touch with more than 50 goals for the Boeren after less than 90 games.
Highlighted Team (Sittard):
Fortuna Sittard is one of the newer additions to Dutch football as the club was founded on July 1, 1968. During the 1990s talented footballers such as Kevin Hofland, Mark van Bommel, and Fernando Ricksen played for the club, but they failed to close the gap between Dutch giants Ajax and PSV. In 1999, though, the Fortunezen did well to make it to the Dutch Cup final, with the team facing Ajax in the title game.
Amsterdammers defeated Fortuna Sittard 2-0 at De Kuip, with Jesper Gronkjaer scoring a brace. Fortuna Sittard players wear yellow shirts and green shorts when playing at home, while their away kit is white. The Fortunezen host their rivals at Fortuna Sittard Stadion. The venue was built in 1999, and it can hold up to 12,500 spectators.
Aforementioned midfielder Mark Van Bommel is the most notable footballer who played for the club. After ending his spell with Fortuna Sittard in 1999, Mark van Bommel played for the likes of PSV, Barcelona, Bayern Munchen, and Milan.
