Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Sparta Stadion Het Kasteel will host Saturday’s football game between Sparta Rotterdam and Heracles, the two teams who were beaten by Utrecht (0-4) and PSV (0-2) respectively in their openers. The Rotterdammers struggled at the back in the opening match of the season, but it is well known that they produce much better showings at home than on the travels. Sparta head coach Henk Fraser could opt to make changes to the starting XI, with both Duarte and Emegha pushing for a start.
The Black and Whites, on the other hand, had no more than six goal attempts in the defeat to PSV. Since Heracles are eager to record their first win of the season as well, we believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. All Azzaoui, Blaswich, Oubella, and Rente have been struggling with injuries of late, speaking of the away team.
Highlighted Player (Bryan Smeets):
Bryan Smeets is a product of MVV Maastricht football academy who plays for Sparta Rotterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie. Smeets scored 23 goals in 144 league appearances for MVV before joining De Graafschap in 2015.
After his spell with the Superboeren, the midfielder moved to Cambuur in the 2017/18 season. The following season he joined Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv where he scored 12 goals in 37 appearances in the elite division. Bryan Smeets then decided to return to Netherlands as he joined Sparta Rotterdam in the 2019/20 season. He scored his first goal with De Kasteelheren in a 4-0 win over RKS Waalwijk on September 21, 2019.
His main position is attacking midfielder, but he is used as both central midfielder and right winger as well. Bryan Smeets has a contract with Sparta Rotterdam which should expire on June 30, 2021. He is a two-footed player.
Highlighted Team (Heracles):
Heracles is a professional Dutch club based in Almelo. The club was formed back in May 1903 and named after Heracles, the demigod son of Zeus. From 1974 to 1998 the club played under the name of SC Heracles ’74. The Heraclieden’s home colours are black and white, while blue is the dominant colour of their away shirt.
Twente are considered one of the club’s main rivals in the Netherlands. Speaking of the club’s achievements, it has to be noted that Heracles have won two Eredivisie trophies (1926/27, 1940/41). In the 2011/12 season they made it to the Dutch Cup final. Heracles faced PSV in the title game, with the Dutch giants proving to be a big catch for the underdogs.
PSV won the game 3-0. In the 2016/17 season Heracles participated in the Europa League, with the team suffering elimination to Arouca in the third qualifying round. Everton is leading the club’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 77 goals.
