Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Sparta Rotterdam and Twente go head to head at Sparta Stadion Het Kasteel in what is expected to be one of the most interesting games of Sunday’s program. The Rotterdammers have been having their ups and downs of late, with the team beating both Volendam and Heracles, while losing to Utrecht and Ajax. Sparta aim to stay in the Conference League berth, but they face a difficult task against the Reds. Jeroen Rijsdijk has a full squad to choose from except for midfielder Pelle Clement, who remains on the sidelines with a knee injury.
Twente, on the other hand, came from two goals behind to beat Excelsior 4-2 in their last league match and a win over Sparta Rotterdam could see them climb to the Champions League places. Twente seem to be more of a team than Sparta and we predict that the visitors are going to pick up all three points from the match. Experienced forward Ricky van Wolfswinkel should be recalled to the starting XI after scoring a brace at the weekend, while there are no fresh injury worries in the away team.
Highlighted Team (Twente):
Based in the city of Enschede, Twente is a Dutch football club that welcomes their rivals at De Grolsch Veste. The venue was opened on May 10, 1998, and the capacity of the stadium is 30,205 people. The club was founded in 1965 as a merger of Sportsclub Enschede and Enschedese Boys.
The Reds did remarkably well to win the Eredivisie title in the 2009/10 season, with the team finishing the process only one point clear of Dutch giants Ajax. As a result, Twente booked their place in the Champions League group stages. The Reds did well to collect six points in their group, but that did not help them make it to the last 16.
Twente are well known for their red jerseys, but they wear dark blue shirts when playing on the travels. The Reds take on Heracles Almelo in the Twentse Derby. Sander Boshchker is leading Twente’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 653 goals on his account.
