Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Twente and Utrecht face each other in a highly-anticipated Eredivisie clash at De Grolsch Veste. Twente aim to put an end to their three-game winless run, while Utrecht aim to remain undefeated in the 2021/22 season. Considering that the Reds failed to impress in a 2-0 loss at Cambuur, we do not believe that home win should be considered. To make things even worse for the hosts first-team regular Luka Ilic is sidelined through suspension.
Rickie van Wolfswinkel is widely expected to lead the line for the hosts. Utrecht, on the other hand, aim to build on a thrilling 3-1 win over Feyenoord, and given their attacking potential, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the visiting team. Talented winger Moussa Sylla should keep his place in the starting XI after finding the net in the triumph over Feyenoord.
Highlighted Player (Joel Drommel):
Born on November 16, 1996, Joel Drommel is a Dutch footballer who plays for Twente as a goalkeeper. Drommel played for IJsselmeervogels youth team when Twente scouts spotted him. The shot-stopper was immediately brought to Enschede, and he has been playing for the Reds ever since.
He made his Eredivisie debut in September 2015 in a 2-2 draw with Ajax. Joel Drommel has 18 appearances with Jong FC Twente as well. Speaking of his international career, the talented goalkeeper has four caps with the Netherlands U21 team. He represented the Oranje at the UEFA U21 Championship in Italy 2019, making two appearances at the tournament.
It has to be noted that Joel Drommel used to play as a midfielder before turning goalkeeper. His fother Piet-Jan Drommel was a footballer as well, playing for the like of AZ Alkmaar and SC Telstar during his career. Joel Drommel is 193cm tall.
Highlighted Team (Utrecht):
Established on July 1, 1970, Utrecht is a Dutch club that competes in the Eredivisie. The club was founded as a merger of VV DOS, USV Elinkwijk, and Velox, and it has to be noted that VV DOS did well to win the Eredivisie trophy back in 1958.
Utrecht, on the other hand, have yet to win the national championship, but they have lifted three KNVB Cup trophies (1984/85, 2002/03, 2003/04). Leo van Veen is leading the club’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 153 goals. Speaking of the club’s colours, they were white and red shirts when playing at home, while blue is the dominant colour of their away jersey.
Due to the hooligan clashes, Utrecht have a rivalry with Dutch giants Ajax. The games between the two clubs have always been very tense on the field. Utrecht welcome their rivals at Stadion Galgenwaard, the venue which can hold up to 23,750 people. The stadium was opened back in May 1936.
